Emiliano said he'd be back before the end of the week he left.

It had been 2 weeks but he still wasn't anywhere.

Mia didn't know why she trusted his word in the first place. She wouldn't even see his face once she gets her baby girl back. Which also seemed uncertain as of now.

She just prayed her baby was healthy.

She went to check on her grandmother who was ready a book with her glasses tucked on her nose.

"come ti senti, nonno ?" Mia asked taking a seat at the edge of her grandmother's bed squeezing her hand.

"Bene, ragazza mia." Her grandmother closed the book on her lap and smiled at her.

When Mia arrived in Italy the old lady wasn't in a good condition. The doctors were unsure if she'd live another day or two but then a sudden wave of recovery occurred. Her grandmother started to recover surprisingly everyone.

The old lady told Mia, it wasn't for the medicines or the doctors but she recovered by seeing her Mia's face. It was the longing that made her ill and now that she had her child back, she was fine. Although she was happy that Mia was back, she could clearly see how Mia was dying a little everyday. She was dying to see her child. To feel her beautiful baby scent.

"Presto la porterà qui. Presto vedrai il tuo bambino e vedrò la tua felicità." She caressed Mia's palm gently.
(Translation: He'll take her here soon, you will see your baby and i'll see your happiness.)

Mia smiled.

"You're staying strong for me but my child no one can understand the pain and the longing in your eyes better than i can. This is the same longing that i had for my daughter. Your mother and then for you. Tua figlia porterà via tutto il dolore dal tuo cuore, ragazza mia."

Mia could feel the pain in her voice. A mother's pain. The pain of never being able to see their child again. Mia couldn't even bear the thought of her Charlotte being hurt. It sent chills down her spine.

"Why don't we go to bed now ? It's past your bedtime, mam." Mia gently smiled as she pulled the warms cover on her Nonno's body. She was still standing in the room when she felt the sudden urge to throw up.

The sudden urge to throw the guts.

She suddenly ran out of the room to go to the nearest  bathroom.

She could hear her name being called behind her.

It happened for the 3rd time in the past two days.

The first two times she thought she might have ate something that upset her stomach, this time she knew it wasn't that.

Her mind suddenly went towards something else.

She couldn't be pregnant, right ?

No.

She brushed her thoughts away when she heard a knock on the door.

"Miss Mia, is everyone okay with you ? Your grandmother is concerned." Lucinda, a house worker said from the other side.

"Tell her i'm fine, It's just stress. I'll take some medicines. Tuck her to bed for me, Lucy." Mia answered from the bathroom wiping her face with a towel.
