Rriinng.. Rriinng.. Ugh My Stupid Alarm Clock Went Off For The Hundredth Time. I Forced Myself Out of Bed And To The Bathroom. I Took A Quick Shower And Dressed Myself. Today I've Decided On A Black And White Dress With A White Scarf. I Applied A Little Make Up And Ran Down The Stairs To Find My Breakfast Made And Set Out For Me. I Ate Very Little Since It's My First Day Of School and Not To Mention I Was Extremely Nervous.
My Name is Amean Yusuf and I'm Seventeen years Old. I'm Part Somali and Part Latino. Yeah, My Parents Are A Crazy Bunch. My Mother Is Latino with Long Brown Hair, Hazel Eyes, and An Olive Complexion. My Father, On The Other Hand Is Darker Than My Mother With Curly Black Hair And High Cheekbones. Then There's Me, With My Light Brown Hair That Falls Over My Shoulders, not That You Would Have Seen It Since It's Tucked Under My Scarf. I Also have Light Colored Eyes like My Mother And My complexion Is Mix Of My Parents.

After I Finally Finished My Waffles, I Put My Dishes In the Sink And Went To Go say Bye to My Mother. I Ran Up The Stairs To Find Her Sitting On My Older Brother's Bed Looking Through Photos.
"Hoyyo" I Call Out To Her But She Doesn't Look Up.
"Mama" I Try Again But She Continues To Look Down. I Touch Her Shoulder And Gently Shake Her. "Mama, I'm off To School. " I Tell her.
She Looks At Me And I See Tear Stains On Her Face. She Quickly Wipes Them And Smiles. " Ohh, Well Have Fun And Run Along before Your Late" She Answers. I Kiss Her Cheek And Head Outside To My Car. I Jump In and Start The Drive To School. 🎬

**Hoyoo*- Somali Word For Mom
