it may be thanks to the fact she was always strong, as a human and as a demon, or the palpable reality that she was the first offspring of the demon lord and the only thing he would drop everything he worked for to protect, despite his actions suggesting otherwise.
" kibutsuji misa, what a pleasure it is to see you again " ubuyashiki kagaya, the current leader of the demon slayer corps and a distant relative of theirs, welcomed her with a smile.
" i wish i could say the same, for i was greeted with several blades to the neck. " misa chuckled at her quip. " you must keep your pawns in their places if you wish to meet in the future. "
" they're my children, but i do apologise on their behalf. it's not everyday that i invite a demon into the headquarters. " kagaya apologised. " much less the only daughter of the demon king. "
" i believe he has reproduced with another human again." misa informed. " i pity that poor family. it is only a matter of time before he either kills or abandons them, much like his past families. "
" i see. " kagaya sighed. " i assume you know why i invited you here? " he inquired. the twin on his left took his hand into hers for comfort. whether it was for herself or her father, misa couldn't only assume.
" it isn't hard to tell. you wish for me to cooperate in my death, no? " misa proposed with the ever so calm smile on her otherworldly face.
" not exactly, i wish for you to cooperate in finally ending your father's reign. " kagaya corrected her.
" and how would my participation help in killing my father? " misa asked, raising a pale hand to tuck a chunk of her ebony hair behind her pointed ear.
" you, poison, and the sun are the only known weaknesses of muzan. if we can lure him here on the promise of your safety, we will have the greatest shot at finally killing him. " kagaya explained. misa released an amused chuckle at his proposition.
" you are quite funny kagaya-san. i stopped being my father's weakness the moment i broke free of his curse. " misa scoffed. " he couldn't possibly care less for my safety, so do not promise it. "
" does that mean you won't cooperate with us, misa-san? " kagaya skeptically inquired, a tired smile ever do present on his scarred face.
" do not place your iniquitous words in my mouth, child for i can already feel my death apace. " misa inexplicably stated before an unpropitious grin imbedded itself onto her face which showcased two dreadfully long fangs that were half hidden behind her plump red lips, reminding them that the humanoid figure before them really is no longer so. " or perhaps it's my dear old dad, coming to steal me away. "
