Yeonjun stopped by beomguy's house and knocked on the door.
His mind was in turmoil. He felt nervous and scared.
He came here unprepared so he didn't know what to do.
A few seconds later, the door opened and he saw his best friend.
"Yeonjun, what are you doing here?"
Beomgyu was shocked to see him.
"Are you okay? Come in."
Yeonjun took a deep breath as he walked inside the house.
The house felt eerie to him.
Beomgyu led them to the living room and yeonjun sat down.
Beomgyu placed a cup of tea in front of him and sat down opposite him, folding his leg and resting his right hand on his chin, staring at him.
He was so calm it felt as though he knew why yeonjun was here to see him.
"So, what brings you to my humble home?"
Beomgyu smiled.
Yeonjun looked at the cup of tea and saw his own reflection on them.
He slowly looked up to make eye contact with beomgyu.
"Your face tells me you know why I'm here."
The silent was loud.
"So, you knew?"
He let out a hearty laugh and shifted in his seat.
"Why did you do that?"
Yeonjun asked. His heart was beating so fast.
Another silence.
The tension filled the air as beomgyu took a sip of the tea and as he placed the cup on the table, he looked at yeonjun.
"Hmm, where do I start?"
He leaned his back against the chair and licked his lips.
"Yeonjun I won't apologize for what I did. I thought you were going to die. No, I was positive that curse I put on you is strong and you won't be able to survive it. But here you are, I'm surprised. You look better than the last time I saw you. You just lost a bit of weight I see."
Yeonjun shifted uncomfortably in his seat.
His best friend demeanour is so different. He don't know who was in front of him.
"You know what? I'll be honest with you. I envy you. I don't like to see you on top without me. So I thought, if I couldn't reach the top, neither can you. Remember you said we should reach the top together but you pushed me down at any chance you got. Isn't that right, yeonjun? So don't blame me for what I did. You deserve it. You deserve all of it!"
Beomgyu glared at him.
He understood why beomgyu had to go to such a certain extent to see him fall.
He remembered what kind of person beomgyu was again.
Beomgyu was always filled with jealousy. He couldn't see other people happy. He did the same thing to his cousin.
Yeonjun thought he won't do the same thing to him as they are best friends and they are closer than family.
But look at what happened to him.
He is in this condition because of that jealousy of his.
He cried silently as flashback played in his mind.
Beomgyu is broken inside and he blamed himself for it. He felt guilty for not noticing it sooner.
"I'm sorry beomgyu."
Yeonjun apologized.
Beomgyu was shocked at yeonjun's sudden apology. He didn't expect that.
It made him cry. Maybe that's all he wanted to hear. An apology.
"It's my fault. I won't blame you for what you did. You're right, I deserve it. I was selfish. I only thought of myself that I didn't see my best friend was suffering too."
Yeonjun said and they both cried in each other's arm.
They both agreed to go separate ways and everything went back to how it used to be, before they met each other and before this misfortune happened.
Yeonjun was no longer afraid of the sight he's seen.
