Chapter 2

Luke Daniels was a small boy with big dreams put on hold due to the single fact that he had a little brother

His father had a young mistress who gave birth to a beautiful baby boy who he named Elijah

The harlot only had the baby had the child because his father begged her to, but other than that she was a gold digging tramp, After the birth she disappeared seemingly off the face of the earth without even so much of a warning

Luke's father being the charmer he was, left the new born baby with son, saying it was his responsibility now

Honestly he didn't mind taking care of his bay brother, the think that ticked him off though was the fact that his father had the audacity to go knock up some whore then dump the child on him, knowing he wanted to go to a good culinary school and didn't know the first thing about raising a child, after all he just got out of high school and was no older than 18

He didn't even help, he just showered up whenever the moon turned blue to just throw a wad of cash in his face as the expense fees then leaves for god knows how long again

Luke looked at the almost one year old on the floor checking to see if he was well enough to go outside

he grabbed Elijah's bag, hat and an umbrella then picked the child up and strapped him to his chest

"Come on Eli, we have a doctors appointment" the baby only cooed at his older brother

He left out of his two room apartment and locked the door

Walking all the way to the bus stop had always been a hassle for him, seeing as it was 2 blocks away and a small human attached to him like an appendage

He looked down at the child who beamed up at him, his cheeks flush, his brother was beyond adorable and was a dead stamp of his father, same for Luke, but he just had his mother's height and body built, with his fathers eyes and everything but softer version

He giggled

"Your enjoying my suffering aren't you" he said before poking the Eli's small nose who let out a sneeze in response

"Cute"

Before he knew what was happening a black car had pulled to a slow beside him

Thinking it was nothing he kept walking

The car seemingly tailing him before winding down the window

He turned to look at who it was and breathed a sigh of relief

"What the hell Jerimiah? I was about to start running" 

He smirked

"Get in"

Luke reluctantly complied, getting into the back of the car with the baby

"Didn't know you had a kid"

Luke chuckled 

"Hes my baby brother "

Jeremiah glanced in his general direction

"Is that so, where ya heading?"

"St Judes hospital,  this little guy has a private doctors appointment"  

He said while playing with Eli's tiny hands

"Mind if I tag along, was gonna there to pick up a prescription for my mother"

Luke's pov

My mouth formed into an 'I'm

"Sure"

See after the whole model situation, jerimiah and I haven't seem each other

Dont get me wrong, it felt lonely after I left and he was a great conversationalist with big dreams and a sound life plan despite his scary appearance

I liked that about him and wanted to get to know him better but I was too shy to ask for his contact details and i had work to deal with so i couldn't go back to visit him

"What's his name?" His voice snapping me back to reality

"Elijah Daniels"

"Nice to meet you Elijah"

I laughed at this

"I dont think he understands you"

He shrugged

"That's fine, from my estimates you should be in college right?"

"I should be but I gotta work and take care of Eli, so I can't really go back to school"

We stopped at a red light and he turned to look at me once more, eyebrows drew together and everything 

"Where are your parents?"

"My mom died when I was in high school and my dad knocked up some gold digger who left after giving birth, and so he left Elijah with me"

His frown deepened

"What a prick, who looks after him while your at work?"

"I leave him at a daycare and pick him up after my shift ends"

"Wouldn't that be expensive though?"

I continued to play with Eli's hands

"Yeah but what other option do I have?"

"Me ir my mom could babysit him for you"

I was a bit shocked and looked up at him

"You'd do that?"

"Yeah sure,  just drop by my place, mom loves kids and sometimes I'm not there with her so Elijah would be well taken care of" he said in a calm manner

I grinned

"Thank you, I'll find a way to repay you"

"No need pip squeak, its fine"

We ended up getting to the doctor without a hassle

Eli was a healthy, happy baby boy and we had a great day
