Only the lightest of taps fell on your upper body as the sky of rain clouds began to cry. You glanced upwards to observe grey clouds as the shrill blow of wind grazed your skin. Heaving a small sigh, you quickened your pace to catch up with your small group of friends as they walked towards a juvenile centre.
Two hours prior, after the short lunch break you had, the principal had called the first years in for an emergency mission briefing. It was told that the four of you had been assigned to help verify and rescue any survivors from the Eishuu Juvenile Detention Centre, located in West Tokyo City. There had been reports of several non-jujutsu sorcerers witnessing a curse womb floating above the juvenile centre's exercise yard.
By the time you stopped in your tracks, the school's assistant director, Kiyotaka Ijichi, was already standing tall, ready to dispatch you into the scene. He began re-explaining the current mission to the first years. Not wanting to waste the opportunity, Kuro nuzzled his body on your legs, efficiently grabbing your attention. You crouched down to hear him more clearly as he spoke.
"(Y/n), are you sure you want to follow them inside?"
Tilting your head to the side in question, you gave him a nod. There's no getting out of this now, you're already an official student of a Jujutsu academy. There's no way you can back away from important tasks.
"What's wrong? You seemed enthusiastic to hunt other curses about ten minutes ago, where did all your passion go?"Kuro huffed, using his paw to hold onto your hands. You instinctively took ahold of his cat torso and lifted him as you stood back up. He muttered,
"Not anymore, the strong aura of cursed energy emitting from this building is close to making me vomit. On the other hand, don't you think it's kinda sketchy though? Assigning some inexperienced teenagers with a mission where there lies a potential special-grade threat?"You reasoned,
"Well, they did mention that they had problems searching for other stronger sorcerers for the job."Fushiguro appeared from behind you, patting your shoulder. He said,
"That's correct. Normally, a jujutsu sorcerer on par with the cursed spirit would take on the mission. On a day like today, that would be Gojo-sensei.""So, where is he?" Itadori interjected.
It was your turn to have a say in the conversation,
"Away on business, isn't that right?" You glanced at Fushiguro to see that he nodded in agreement."Unfortunately, we're constantly short-handed in this business. You'll often have to undertake missions beyond your power," Kiyotaka stated whilst fixing his glasses above the bridge of his nose. After a short pause, he continued, "The current case, however, is an abnormal one and the most urgent. Do not fight under any circumstance."
"If you come across a special-grade curse, your only options are to either run or die." He warned.
Feeling the breath hitch in your throat, your mind finally circulated against the idea of heading in danger's way. A trail of cold sweat trickled down your forehead.
'I can't back away now, this is my chance to learn more about jujutsu-"Your brain suddenly reminisced the tragedy of where it all started, remembering the disgusting face of that lowly curse who groped every inch of your body. Thinking back to all the pain you had been inflicted with, every injury gradually worsening as the nightmare carried on.
'Shit,' Unable to contain the tremble of your lips, you clutched a hand to your heart. '...I'm...afraid...'"Excuse me!" The incoming voice of a lady broke you away from your wretched thoughts. "Excuse me! Where is Tadashi?!"
You turned to see a woman in her mid thirties being restrained by a couple of security guards. She had tears in her eyes as she hysterically called out to your group.
"Is Tadashi...Is my son Tadashi, alright?!"
