"So, are you worried?" Pearl asks, as Sapphire takes a turn to swim the other way. She shrugs. "Why would I be? I got picked for the comb for a reason." Sapphire takes a stop and peeks over a rock. "What's wrong?" Pearl asks. Sapphire is quiet for a few moments before she finally answers. "Do you see that?" She then point to where the castle is at spot lights coming out of it, it's all decorated like a party. "Yeah I see, it's pretty I guess." Sapphire twirls a piece of curly blonde hair and snorts. "Of course you don't understand. Your my Guardian Mermaid, it's not like you have a real form. Your just able to talk in my head." There's silence for a few minutes before Sapphire starts swimming towards the castle. "Time to get my comb. By the way, Pearl I didn't mean to sound rude earlier, I really appreciate you and all you do for me. So yeah thank you." Sapphire couldn't tell but Pearl was smiling real wide.
"Done!" I say as I hold the pencil up in the air. Good thing all the other teachers gave us little assessments that are due in a month or so. I rub my eyes from the drowsiness and stretch. I get up to my stuff away then hear keys out there. Yay Mom's home. I put my work in a folder, then I put my books in my bag and my folder. I take a quick shower then put on pajamas. I go down to go say hi to my Mom and see Natalie hugging her. She rolled her eyes at me the moment I walked down the stairs. "Hallo Mami." I say in German. "Hallo hunny, what is this I hear about you bullying Natalie." She asks in a small German accent. "She's just mad I took the remote from her, I did that because she was ignoring me when I asked her if she did her homework." My Mom looked at me then at Natalie eyebrow raised. She firmly grasps her hands."Is this true kleiner?" Natalie gulps and looks up at Mom. "Ich kenne Mama nicht." Mom smiles in enjoyment. "What do you mean you don't know?" She just sighs and crouches down in front of her. "Look sehr geehrter, you have to do your homework okay? We shouldn't even have to remind you, when the bus drops you off and I go to pick you up, you should come in here and change your clothes, wash your hands then eat lunch. Then you can start on your work, no TV time until after." Mom clears her throat and goes to hug me. She then washes her hands and goes upstairs to change. I stick my tounge out at Natalie, hey I know it's petty but.. Then Natalie just grabs her bag off the floor and goes upstairs to hopefully do her work. Mom comes down a few minutes later in her pajamas, it looks less like pajamas and more like working out clothes. "So ready to clean out the basement?" I nod and she then looks at the counter where the boxes are at. "Gut, (Good in German) you already started." She then grabs my hand and pulls me over to the basement. "We'll deal with that later." 30 minutes later, we have dusty boxes full of things we're going to throw out and we're both taping the boxes shut.
"There." My Mom says hands on her hips, then she wipes sweat away. "Since you helped me, I think I'll be able to do this part by myself." I shake my head and pick up two boxes. "Nope, some of this stuff are mines too." She just smiles and hugs me. "Thanks, sehr geehrter." Later on, me and my Mom finished throwing out old things and we just ended up throwing in the trash outside and waited for the garbage truck to come by since we didn't want to leave Natalie alone. After that I just relaxed in my room, life is pretty boring. Oh yeah the strawberry moon is on Friday. I think we're all going to have a girls day out on a extra beautiful day out. Time past soon enough and me and my sister end up putting our differences aside and help Mom cook dinner, we had jasmine rice and black beans. After a nice dinner and some sprite to drink we had 1 hour left to spare before we had to go to bed, I just wanted to go and practice drawing for Art class tomorrow. An hour passed and me and my sister brushed our teeth and said goodnight to our Mom. As I laid in my bed time passed and I couldn't really sleep. So I quietly get up from my bed and go get my book from school. It's on my desk and it's a big book, with a crimson cover and big black bold letters reading, "Things we might not know about up in the sky" what a long name. I grab the book and try to quietly go back to my bed without making a noise. I open the book and there on one of the sides it reads, "This belongs too: Rosetta" I wrote my name when I first got this book in led pencil. Just in case I'm not going to be able to keep it. As I keep slowly turning the pages couple by couple to find my bookmark I eventually find it. Page 45, Type Of Moons. I specifically love learning about the sky up there because of the stars and moons especially, the give so much information and it's so intriguing.
I reread the first page of this chapter and see it talking about the Blue Moon. "Cool it's happening in October." I flip 2 more pages until I find one about the strawberry moon. "Perfect." It talks about where it's happening and the history of it and such like that. It happens June 5, which is this Friday, in New Zealand. I'm actually really happy since the strawberry moon is one of my favorite moons. I think to myself as I read on to the other moons. Later on I fall asleep with the book in my hands holding it tight as I lay my head on my pillow snoring a little. The next morning I wake up and look at my alarm. "Huh?" Did I oversleep? I quickly push the covers off of me and go to take a shower. When I was about to go in the bathroom, my mom walked in. "You and the girls are not going to extra classes today." I snap my head around and walk to my mom. "Why?" She just shakes her and leaves the room, closing it carefully behind her. I just stared in disbelief. I still took a shower as usual, then brushed my teeth. While I was brushing it I was thinking about what happened a few minutes ago, I hope it's nothing bad. I leave my room and see the girls and my Mom at the table. "Good morning guys." I'm wearing a dressy type red shirt and blue skinny jeans that go with my slim body. Celeste waves and Aurelia smiles as I walk closer. I stand in near the table near Aurelia. My mom is sitting at the front of the table her hands folded. She sighs and her brows crease in worry. "There's been an accident at your school a few hours after you left, when watching Aurelia training." I want to say something but all I do is swallow and wait for her to elaborate. "Someone broke in, and damaged a lot of supplies, they messed up the track and the swimming pool too. Nobody knows how it happened, it seemed so unnatural." I shake my head in disappointment I can't believe someone would do something like that. Celeste has a strained smile trying to seem positive, but she is going to end up losing that battle. Aurelia doesn't try to to hide her emotions she just have worry written all over her face.
My mom on the other hand has a unrecognizable expression on her face. Aurelia opens her mouth to speak but closes her mouth and retreats. My mom catches that and smiles at her to finish that thought. Aurelia nods her head. "It's really sad that this happened and I'm upset that I'm not going to be able to run anymore and Celeste is not going to be able to swim. But importantly that someone messed up the school supplies, but I can't say how bad it is since I don't know if it's so bad that we can't work." My mom stays quiet for a moment before finally adding on to what Aurelia was saying. "The only classroom that didn't get messed up was your girls homeroom and 2 extra kids." My mom sighs and then moves her chair back to get up. The chair makes a shrieking against the wood sound. Celeste cringes a little but bounces back. My mom then walks out of the dining area and goes to the live room. Me and the girls each look at each other, with pain and worry streaked on our faces. Mom then comes back a few minutes later with a little crumpled white piece of paper. Then she places it on the table and slides it to the middle so we can all get a good look at it. "That's another reason I didn't want you girls to go to school. I talked to both of your parents too, right after I received this." We each peered at the letter and we each scanned it over quickly. Celeste was the first to moves back in shock. "What?" Aurelia started biting her nails and little lines appeared on her forehead. That usually happens when she is stunned and anxious. I take the note and read it over once more to make sure I read everything right. The note read, "Don't send Rosetta to school. Or else something terrible would happen." My mom twirled around a lock of hair and bit her lip in concern. "At first I thought this was a prank, and then I asked myself who would do a prank like this? So I tried to ignore it earlier before it was your time to get up for school. But I just couldn't shake that worry in my head. So I confided in the girls parents, Ms. Monet (Celeste Mom) and Mr. Chen (Aurelia's dad)." My mom takes a breath and continues. "They said they had the note too, and was going to call both of us but they were scared the person who sent the note was watching." I close my fist in anger and annoyance.
How dare someone threaten my mom and my friends parents. I think Aurelia noticed cause she gave a weak smile and holds one of my hands. I feel warmth and a little bit better and mouth thank you to her. She just grins and turns back to face my mom who had her gaze on her folded hands. I then drop her hands and try to take a deep breath. "So you girls are staying here for a few days until everything settles down. Your parents asked me to keep you safe and don't send you girls to school until every is safe enough." We all nod our heads and my mom walks away. I hope she'll be okay, I mean I can kind of understand her. This is probably so stressful for all of our parents. But what I can say for sure is, what happened was not normal. I figured that out more later on.
