Protect Her (Tobio Kageyama x reader)

Suprise Destination

"Hey Ayaka, it's time!"
Suga shouted back to her since he was sitting in the front while she was in the back.
"Ok"
She said back and started rummaging through her bag until she came across a blindfold.
She tossed it to Kageyama before she started to close her bag again. Kageyama put the blindfold on you gently and you tried to hide your excitement that he was touching your head. Girl, calm down all he did was touch the back of your head. Your excitement only grew from the unawareness you had, of your destination. You heard the team fumble around getting out of the van. You felt a hand grasp your own, that you assumed was Tobio. You let him lead you out of the van. Aw yes this wasn't suspicious at all, many high school boys dragging a blindfolded girl out of a white van. Thank god that Kiyoko is here, with her no one can even question us. You were dragged around for about 5 minutes before you were permitted your sight again. You lifted your blindfold to realize that you were standing in front of (amusement park name). You jumped a little in excitement and threw the blindfold at Ayaka rather violently out of love ❤️. The group started walking towards the entrance. You playfully jumped around like a kid following your beloved friends.

"Lets go to that one!"
Noya shouted whilst pointing to the biggest ride there.
"That looks scary...."
"Oh man up Asahi!"
Noya responded
You looked to your right to see Tobio looking at the rollercoaster as well and he looked obviously scared. You giggled and grabbed his hand and dragged him with you so you were walking in front of the group.
"We will do the big one later"
You said to yourself although Tobio could hear you. The group of players followed mindlessly behind you whispering and giggling. You wondered why until you saw Tobio staring at your intertwined hands with a big blush on his face. It was adorable but you also started to feel nervous so you let go. You and the guys went on a few different rides until they decided to go look for food and take a break . Suga and Dachi stayed with Asahi who was violently throwing up and the rest of you split up to look for food. You were with Tobio....alone.....because Ayaka said that she "didn't want to be a third wheel". To that you rolled your eyes. It wasn't like you and Tobio were a couple and you wouldn't really know how to act if you were a couple. He was hard to read sometimes and you didn't really know how to tell him your feelings either. For now you decided to put away the feelings even though the butterflies would still ignite whenever you were around him which you hated and loved at the same time. You didn't want to make your friendship with him uncomfortable, but you knew eventually you would have to confess. Maybe that's what Ayaka was trying to do by getting you too alone. But it was obviously not the right timing. You appreciated her trying to help you but she should know that you could do it on your own. You sighed while scanning the stands that the park had to offer. Several annoying advertising people at the stands were shouting at people to play their games. It was annoying. You just wanted food.
"Oh look who we have here......"
You turned to the voice that you thought might be directed towards you. You were met by brown eyes and hair as well as a smirk.
"Ew it's Oikawa....."
You said under your breath.
"If it isn't Tobio-chann and (Y/N)-chan"
You noticed he was standing behind one of the stands seeming working but clearly not doing his job. You betted that he probably just flirted to get customers all day. Tobio glared intently at Oikawa as Oikawa did the same back at Tobio.
"Oikawa"
"Tobio"
The two boys said to each other. You sighed and walked up to the stand.
"You should stop glaring, it will give you wrinkles"
Oikawa gasped at your statement and pouted dramatically. While Tobio just stopped and looked at you.
"So what are you guys doing here?"
Oikawa asked
"I could ask you the same question"
You responded
"Well I'm working duh"
"I'm here for my birthday"
"Oh happy birthday, would you like an ice cream it's on the house since it's your birthday~"
You sighed at his flirty tone
"You can't just give out free food Trashykawa!"
The ace from Seljoih said while making fries.
"But Iwa it's her birthday"
"Fine whatever but if you get fired don't complain to me about it"
Iwa said back followed by Oikawa mumbling a 'your so mean'.
"Um can I get two fry and chicken tenders combos instead."
He seemed kind of confused that you decided to get two but obliged.
Once he gave you the food it seemed to have clicked in his brain.
"You better not give one to Tobio-chan"
He grumbled while glaring at the boy.
"Oh course not...."
You said sarcastically but Tobio looked at you with hurt in his eyes as if you were going to deprive him of food. You started walking away as Tobio followed.
"Don't look at me like that, this one is yours"
You gave him one and he mumbled a small thanks.
You found a bench and sat down while happily eating your fries, Tobio following suit.
"Do you like Oikawa?"
Tobio suddenly asked
You took a minute to carefully word your response before saying
"He...He is annoying and arrogant but he is human and a great player so he seems hard working, so I guess I don't like him but I respect him"
You paused before saying an alternative answer.
"But if you asking if I like-like him then absolutely not"
A weight seemed to be lifted off of Kageyama's shoulders and he relaxed. Tobio keeps giving me the vibe that he like-likes me but he is so hard to read and I could just be imagining everything. You texted the group chat that you were going to meet up with them by the big rollercoaster in about an hour. Within that hour you and Tobio played some of those rigged games that frustrated the heck out of you both but you had a fun time nevertheless.
"Why can I never get the ball in the hoop!"
You growled
Tobio took the basketball from your grasp and put it in his hands as if it were a volleyball. He won't really... will he. He set the ball into the hoop effortlessly and the salesman put on a fake smile and gave Tobio the stuffed animal of his choice. An Elephant. How ironic (If you don't remember, that is what you talked about while in the van) You grumbled in annoyance as you both started walking away.
"You're the worst Tobio, do you know how long I tried to get that ball in the moving hoop, and you just came in and got it in first try"
You snarled
"I started to get bored watching you fail"
He bluntly responded
"I would have gotten it in eventually!"
He just stopped and looked at you
"If it makes you feel any better, I picked out the elephant for you"
He blushed a little while holding out the stuffed elephant.
Ugh more butterflies
Heat rushed to your face and you smiled brightly.
"Thanks tobio"

You met up with the guys at the large rollercoaster that looked fun. At least to you it looked fun; Asahi looked terrified and so did Kags.
"Hey Asahi you don't have to ride this one."
You patted his back
"Really, thanks Y/N."
"Just wait here until we are done, oh and hold the elephant"
You gave the elephant to Asahi . You then grabbed Tobio's arm since you were feeling bold today and dragged him over to the ride. Everyone piled in the seats, with you and Tobio in the front. The entire ride he was scared and you were laughing constantly at his terrified face. Every up before a drop he would let out multiple curse words and then when the drop came he would let out a shout. This was the reason you wanted to be beside him, his fear was amusing.

He was frightened the whole time,

But when he saw that you were smiling,

he smiled too.❤️
