Chapter 6: Period

Ashlyn's POV
I'm sitting upstairs on the couch next to Noah, not happy about today.

Today is the day Noah goes back home. About a week ago, I would have been happy about him leaving. Now I'm not.

"Relax. In another week you'll be coming to Vegas for the race." Noah says softly, but I could see right through him. He wasn't happy about leaving either.

"When are we gonna tell Justin?" I asked, fidgeting with my hands.

"I already know." Justin says from behind us. I jumped, making Noah laugh. "I figured it out when I saw both of you coming upstairs every morning." Justin looks at us like we were dumb.

"Let's get you to the airport." Justin says, dragging Noah out the door. I huffed and got up.

"Relax. You know how he is." Kate says, picking up Harper and walking out the door. I knew she was right but he didn't need to be an ass.

"You want someone to walk with you to the gate-" Justin went to ask Noah and I jumped the gun.

"Of course he does." I smiled and grabbed his backpack. "Holy hell what do you have in here?" I laughed as he closed the car door.

"Not much." Noah chuckles, taking his backpack from me and slipping his hand into mine. I smiled to myself as we walked through the airport.

"I wish you didn't have to go." I mumbled, sticking out my bottom lip as were standing in the waiting area.

"You're gonna see me next Friday though." He chuckles, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.

"Its not the same. I didn't think about this part when..."

"Ash. We'll make it work." He says leaning down and kissing me.

"How can you kiss me like that and act like you're not gonna miss it while you're in Vegas." I pouted.

"Come on Ash, you know I would love to take you to the place of your dreams but Justin would kill me before that happens." Noah says. "And obviously I'm gonna miss kissing you. It's like my favorite thing to do."

"What about racing?" I raised an eyebrow.

"That too." He smiles, kissing me. His flight gets called and his eyes become filled with sadness. But I knew he was doing his best to be strong for the both of us. He presses his forehead to mine and kisses me like his life depended on it.

"Bye Ash." He says, placing a kiss on my forehead and then boards his plane. I was blushing like crazy as I walked out of the airport.

"He better have kept his damn lips off of you, Ashlyn."

"Oh leave them alone, Justin." Kate says, lightly smacking his shoulder. I laughed then became sad as I would have to wait a week to see him again.

I was sitting on my bed getting ready to pack for tomorrow morning. Well more like later tonight but that's it. My phone started ringing so I turned down my music and accepted the facetime.

"Hello?" I swiped without looking who it was.

"Hi baby girl." I smiled when I heard this voice.

"Noah!" I squealed, setting my phone up on the nightstand so he could see me.

"How are you doin, Ash?" He smiles.

"Better now that your on the phone. What about you?"

"I miss you." He pouts. Noah was sitting on his couch with a controller in his hand. "My apartment is a lot more lonely now that I have a girlfriend." He seems proud.
