"Just another day of school"

*BEEP BEEP* the alarm goes off ever so lousy. This default iPhone alarm man. It scares the crap out of me every morning making me feel like my heart is ready to leave my body any second. A groan leaves my breath as I struggle to leave my bed.

"Just another day of school" I whisper to myself in a miserable tone.

Here's today's rundown of my morning routine:

I get up, take a shower, brush my teeth, run to the bus station and as I make my way out the door, I stumble on my untied shoe laces. On one hand I have my phone and in the other my breakfast burrito that I made the night before.

I never have time to eat breakfast at home as I take forever to get ready.

I soon make my way to bus and hear my friend call out my name from a short distance behind me. "Nathaniel, wait up!" Zoe says as she try's to catch up to me.

Let's rewind.

Zoe, she's been one of my closest friends for quite some time now. Some would like to call us reflections of each other as we share the exact same personality, humour, but the one that differentiates us is the type of people that interest us. (Who we find attractive)

"Last one in the bus is a rotten egg" I shout and make my way quickly inside the bus. This phrase.... corny right ? Me and Zoe would make some dumb shit up and just go along with it. You would think of us as those weird "carpet hallway rat kids" that you would see sitting near the library at school, but no, we are just two semi popular high school students.

"YOU BITCH, I TOLD YOU TO WAIT UP"

"it's not my fault your weight kept you from beating me" I respond with a smirk.

She looks at me and rolls her eyes, but we both burst out laughing as we realize everyone in the bus take a glimpse at us.

"QUIET BACK THERE" the bus driver shouts at us. We continue to giggle and make our way to an open seat.

I sit near the seat closest to the window and enjoy the beautiful mountain view for a couple of moments until I turn to Zoe and realize I had a question for her.

"So do you think you can go to the party next week" I ask, eager to know. She looks at me with hesitation knowing that this party won't be good for us. By now you can tell that I am the more impulsive friend while Zoe the more sensible.

"I think we shouldn't-" I cut her off and say "But it's going to be fun. It's senior year and we haven't done much and I think this is going to be good for us. Please give it a chance."

Zoe signs and agrees but only under the condition of which we won't smoke or drink. What a party pooper. Hopefully I can keep my end of the promise.
