(Ryan's POV)

I quietly head out of the house at four fifty, not even another person awake. I know Sebastian would probably be awake already, on a plane or something. I send him a quick text before the stoplight turns green.

You: Spare key is in the fake plant for when you arrive

Sebastian: ok

(Summer's POV/Time skip)

I wake up and get ready, just keeping my hair down in front of my face. I go downstairs, the dim light shining in from the slits between the blinds. There's a cold air coming in from the vents, I put up my hood. Birds are starting to call.

I sit down at the table and think. I could just run again, Ryan really wouldn't care. It would just be a weight lifted off everyone's shoulders. What am I thinking? I gotta get through this! Wait-I- I- I can't stay! But I can't leave! I can't-I CAN'T TAKE THIS!-

The thoughts get louder, and more confusing. I shut my eyes tight, trying not to scream in frustration at myself. My thoughts just get more and more confusing, and extremely loud until memories flash quickly before my eyes. I can't breathe. The world around me seems to vanish until all I can hear is my own thoughts and past screaming at me.

"Summer, you need to breathe. Listen to my voice. You're okay, you're going to be okay. You just need to breathe." A calm voice breaks through and I feel a safe touch on my shoulders. I come back to reality to see a concerned Sebastian Danzig in front of me. "Keep breathing." He says calmly for the last time. There's a short moment of silence and he steps back. "Are you okay?"

I nod quietly.

"Okay." Silence,

(Time skip)

"So, is Ryan alright?" Sebastian tries to spark up conversation, considering I'm a quiet awkward balloon.

"Yeah." I respond, still quiet.

Sebastian thinks, trying not to let the room be quiet. I am not helping with the awkwardness.

"So, tell me a little about yourself?" he says after thinking, this is probably the worst question to answer. Especially when your history is either horrible or everything else about you is meaningless. What are people going to do with information like that, it's simply unnecessary.

"I...Don't really have anything...." I respond quietly. He thinks,

(Sebastian's POV)

"I...don't really have anything...." Summer replies in a way to say she was thinking too hard on the subject. She's also pretty quiet, possibly quieter than Emerson when he's focused on something he's making. She only seems to talk when someone else talks to her first.

I think, not knowing how to keep up the conversation. "okay, uhm, how about, favorite animal?"

"snakes." She responds quietly, this time without thinking so much. The response was unexpected.

"wow...I uh...did not expect that." I laugh awkwardly. "Is there a reason?"

"they're adorable in hats." She explains, a hint in her eye saying she's thinking of something funny.

Well possibly, it's hard to tell. You can barely see her eyes, they're mostly covered by long dark hair. But now and again I see a glint of blue, like an icy lake hidden under coal.

Well, this is a start. I keep asking her simple questions, getting to know her. She answers questions, thinking on some of them, but for a few, the answers are quick. I don't bother her about the panic attack I saw when I first arrive, and I don't push for deeper details on the subjects. After a while she goes up to the room she's staying in.  Ryan checks in with me.
