Leaping Into Freedom (S1)

Chapter 2

A titan that was bigger than the wall appeared, its eyes looked down onto the people of Maria, They all looked back in shock and terror.

"It's bigger than the wall!" Leanna said.

Harlow stayed quiet, her mind was raising. How could a titan larger than the wall exist? There's no way. It's impossible. The survey corps would have encountered one like this before. It's not exactly easy to miss.

Minutes passed, nothing happened. The town was silent. Everyone was waiting for the worst.

A massive gust of wind and rocks littered the air.

The earth shook under their feet. Everyone looked around while the earth continued to shake. Stomping got closer and closer.

Harlow finally realized what had happened. The titans had gotten into the wall. Without a moment to think she grabbed Leanna's hand and ran.

"Harlow! What are you doing!?" Leanna asked.

"Have you not figured it out?" Harlow said.

"No!" Leanna said in an offended tone.

"The titans got in! If we wait any longer we're gonna be titan food!" She said.

Just then there were screams. People ran around in a panic.

Harlow kept her attention forward. Her heart was raising. She looked around, in an attempt to figure out what to do. She saw dead bodies already.

"Harlow!! We need to get to the entrance of Maria." Leanna yelled to Harlow over the chaos.

Harlow nodded.

The girls kept running, past the families crying out for help as their children were eaten, Kids cry over their mothers and fathers crushed bodies.

Leanna looked around at her home in terror. The town's baker was screaming for help as he was ripped in half by a titan.

She started crying. She watched as kids she grew up with screamed for someone to help their parents who were fair from saving.

The town she grew in is being torn apart. She saw a little girl holding her doll as she hid under a roof. She closes her eyes, unable to look at anymore.

Harlow kept her eyes on the exit that was now in view.  They ran through the gate and lined up to get on a boat.

Once they were on the boat the girls sat down. People were still screaming. The boats took off. Leaving thousands of people behind.

The boat that they were on was silent. The only thing that could be heard were people crying.

Harlow hunched back and grabbed her hair. Flashbacks to that day came back.

Leanna held her knees as she cried. Images of her home town being overrun by titans invaded her thoughts.

The boat ride was silent. The boat arrived in Ehrmich District. Once they got off the boat Harlow saw Levi looking around the crowd. He was trying to see if Harlow made it.

Harlow took Leanna's hand and ran up to Levi. Levi saw her running towards him and squatted down. She let go of Leanna's hand and ran up to Levi. They shared a hug. Levi's grip was tight, Harlow was crying in joy.

"Thank god you're ok." He whispered.

Levi pulled away and stood back up.

Harlow wiped the tears from her face, she smiled at Levi.

Levi ruffled her messy hair.

"Are you ok? Did you get hurt?" He asked.

"No, I'm ok." Harlow said with a sniff and a weak smile.
