Welcome Back-Chapter 1

Elijah Schuyler POV
I watched as the trees and buildings passed by us.My stomach had butterflies.I was coming back to New York after my..wife cheated.I looked over at my three year old sat in my lap.We were taking a train and we have been on this train for what felt like forever.Finally the train came to a stop and I looked out the window to see we were at the train station.I got all my stuff and my sleepy toddler and headed to the exit.Angelo,my brother, said he would be waiting for me with Peter,my other brother.I hope there actually there cause that would be an unfortunate welcoming.
I got off the train and soon enough I found Angelo there with Peter and some I didn't actually know.I walked over to them and we all hugged."The Schuyler brothers are back!"Peter said.I chuckled at his response.Angelo smiled at me "Great to have you back here Elijah." He turned to face Pippa,My daughter or should I say princess,"It's great to see you two cutie"He booped her in the nose and she did a small laugh.Peter uncomfortably shifted a bit."Elijah this is my girlfriend."He said pointing to the unknown women.
"Hello,I'm Jennifer Lauren's but you can call me Jen"
I will have to admit I'm a bit in shock since I never knew about this women."It's a Please to meet you Jen.I never knew Peter had a girlfriend."Peter's face turned a little red."I wanted to wait until you meet in person"The two held hands and I couldn't help but smile at them."Well let's getting going to my house so you two can set your stuff down."Angelo said.The whole car ride we were all just catching up.Apparently Lafayette and Hilary are dating.Georgia Washington and Matthew Washington have adopted a baby.Tonia Jefferson and Jamie Madison are going on a couple dates.I was happy for all of them.I couldn't wait to see all of them again and I am hoping to meet The Washington's little baby.As we reached Angelos house I could see someone on the front porch.It was a girl and they seemed to be having a child in their arms.Angelo and Peter got out as well as me and Pippa.The women smiled and got up still holding her child and walked to us."Hello you two,It's lovely to see you again Elijah".I was confused."Have we met before?".The women chuckled "Don't you remember the girl who snorted her chocolate milk on you in third grade.My jaw dropped.
It was Anna Burr.
"Anna?Is it really you!?".She chuckled "the one and only.Its so good to see you again Elijah."A smile formed onto my face "You too Anna,I assume this is your child?"I said pointing to the small boy in her hands.Anna smiled at her baby "Yes this is my dear baby,Theodore."The boy looked at me and did a small wave.Pippa looked at him and smiled."Pippa likes him for sure."Anna chuckled.Why don't we all go inside and catch up.We all nodded and went inside.
We were all chatting up until dinner.Even then we were still talking.I learned that Anna's husband died and she named her son after him.I felt bad for her,I met Theodore once and he seemed like a sweet guy.Pippa and Theodore were playing in the living room.After we ate Angelo wanted to tell me something.
"What is it Angelo?"
"Me and Anna...are together"

My eyes lifted "You and Anna huh?"I was supportive of my brother in all situations including this but I must say I was surprised."When Theodore sadly passed..I was in a bad patch and Angelo was the one who helped me through it."I smiled.That was always like Angelo,Helping someone who's had it rough."Well you two seem to love eachother very much"."Yeah are you trying to beat me" Peter said to Angelo.I chuckled to myself.
Soon Peter and Jennifer left and Pippa and Theodore went to bed.I was unpacking my last bag when I saw a photo.It was an old photo of me and Alexandra at our wedding.I felt a few tears come into my eyes as I remembered her.
How she used to always brush her hair dozens of times before going to important meeting.How she loved to tickle Pippa.How she said that I was the only man she would ever love.Before I knew it I had tears streaming down my face.Angelo walked into the room and grew concerned but saw the photos and realized why.He went and hugged his brother."She didn't deserve you...Your an amazing person and one day your gonna find your soulmate who will love you till death."I smiled at his words."Thanks Angelo,Do you mind if I take a walk in the back?" Angelo shook his head."Go on ahead be careful though."I will" I said to him before leaving downstairs.In the back of Angelos house was a nature walk path.I used to come out here and clear my mind and figured it would be worth a try.As I walked I heard a noise like if someone was coming.I slowly went and hid behind one of the trees and peeked out to see who it was.Who I saw shocked me because I never thought I'd see them in person.
It was Alexandra Hamilton,Though she looked different.She wore baggy clothes and looked a bit more pale.I decided to make an appearance.I stepped out of the tree and she looked towards me.She flinched a little but was mostly shocked.
"Elijah?......What are you do-"
"I decided to come back to town."I stated in a stern voice.Truth being I didn't want to talk to her for too long.She nodded and looked away."Well..I think I should head off now."I looked down at her hand and I saw she had a cut.I quickly grabbed her hand worried about the cut.When I grabbed her hand she flinched and for a second I could see fear in her eyes."You have a cut,It looks severe too..I'll need to examine it"She shook her head and pulled her hand back."Its just a cut and I have medical supplies anyway at my house".She shifted her feet a little and I knew she was lying.Whenever Alexandra lies she shifts her feet."No you don't Let me take you back to Angelos house and take care of it".She shook her head "Angelo wouldn't let me in there,He hates me and I don't wanna start anything,I'll stay out of your way I promise please just let me go back home.I have someone waiting for me"Elijah looked at the women as she spoke in a scared tone.I didn't even recognize her.The Alexandra I knew was confident and ready to let people know what's in her mind,Right now she seems fragile and scared,What confused me most is how she said someone was waiting for her."Who is waiting for you?".She looked away from me.I could already tell who she was afraid to say."It's William isn't it."She didn't meet my eyes instead she collapsed on me.Now I needed to see what was wrong.I picked her up and carried her back to Angelos house.Angelo was in the kitchen when I walked in and immediately noticed Alexandra."Why is she here and why is she in your arms."I sighed "Look I know you don't like her but she collapsed on me when I talked to her.ai just wanna see if she's okay.Angelo hesitantly nodded and asked Anna to get the first aid kit.She came back and gave it to us,Alexandra was on the couch.Anna unzipped her jacket to a shocking sight.
Alexandra had cuts and bruises all over her torso.Anna rolled up her sweat pants and found more cuts and bruises.She also found blood stains on her...vagina."Alexandra isn't telling you something Elijah.How did she react when she met you."I thought back to when I first found her."She was flinching a bit whenever I got near or touched her."We bandaged her up and Angelo fortunately let her stay on the couch

The next Day

I woke up from Pippa crying and decided to go and investigate.I went out of my room to the room she was sharing with Theodore.I saw Alexandra curled up in a ball sitting out side the front door of the room.I went in and calmed Pippa down.I walked back up to her and sat next to her. "She's scared of me...."My head turned to her."I went in there and she started to cry...Is that how far I have fallen in life?"I didn't know how to answer her.She got up and looked at me." I appreciate you letting me stay here but I really have to go."I jolted up and blocked her from going down stairs.

"Your not leaving until you tell me how you got those stains of blood on your pants and why your covered head to toe in bruises,scars and cuts."
