Your POV

I knocked on Hyeonseo's door and I saw her standing and giving me a warm smile. She gives me a signal to come in and so I did.

I saw her mom making some sandwich for us.

"Well I remember that we do have assignments to do.. Shall we make it together? ", she said.

" I would be glad! ", I replied and she then grabs my wrist and we headed to her room to make our assignments.

We had a great time together then after we quickly finished our homework we talked about the things we like and we don't, also what is our favorite food, or movie and whatnot..

Her mom goes in the room having the sandwich that she made earlier and give it to us.

" Thank you Mrs. Kim", you said.

"Your welcome little Y/n, please do well with my daughter" She said .

"It would be a pleasure Mrs. Kim", you replied.

" You can call me mom, mother or whatever you wanted. I'll treat you as my daughter also", she said and pulls you into a hug.

"Yah! Mother you should asked me to join that hug! ", Hyeonseo said.

" Oh, come over here my little hyeonseo. I'm glad that you make new friends ", her mom said and gives her a kiss.

"Okay I'll leave you girls just let me know if you need something I will be just down there", her mom said then she leaves the room.

I got to know more about Hyeonseo and also I feel comfortable around her.

After few months, Hyeonseo and I is still friends. My mom knows about her as well as her mom. She is like my little sister but we are just in the same age. Well I'm older in her by moths so still in her unnie. Our friendship got deeper as we tell each other our deepest secrets.

We entered the school and just do our routine. We are our way back in our house when someone call Hyeonseo.

*on the phone*

" Hello miss is this Hyeonseo? ", the man said.

" Uh-yes why? Who are you? ", Hyeonseo replied.

" We are at the nearest hospital because you mom collapsed", the man said then you both start to panic. You both don't know what to do or where to go.

"Wh-where is my mom?! ", Hyeonseo said.

" I'll text you the address please come quickly ", the man said and hang up the call.

" I'll tell my mom so she could go with us", I said and we both head to our house. I told my mom on what happened and we immediately went to the hospital that Hyeonseo's mom is in.

We arrived at the hospital that the man tell us.

"Do you have a patient named Mrs. Lee Minyoseo? ", Hyeonseo asked the girl from the counter.

" Yes ma'am she is in the emergency room right now, I'll tell someone to assist you", the girl said as she went our of her desk and ask someone.

"She'll be fine", my mom said and pats her shoulder lightly.

" I hope so", Hyeonseo replied.

The girl came with another man to assist us. The man told us to follow him and so we did.
We saw Hyeonseo's mom doing an operation but we saw her just by looking at the small glass in the door. Hyeonseo really looked worried about her mother. I hope her mother will survived. I treat Miss Lee as one of my mother too so I hope she gets well.

Then after 3 hours of the operation, the doctor came out with a sad expression on his face. My heart skips a beat every time the doctor go nearer in us.

"H-how is my mother? Did the surgery went well? ", Hyeonseo said. I can tell that she is so worried by just the tone of her voice.

" I'm sorry your mom didn't make it. She had a heart attack on the street", the doctor said and pats Hyeonseo's shoulder and leaves.

"I'm sorry", I said.

Tears are streaming down to her cheeks as well as you and your mother.

" Mom-Why?! Why did you leave me all alone?! Why?! Why?! ", she said and she breaks down. Me and my mind tried to calm her down but it's just the situation really hurts her. After a few hours of her crying she fell asleep.

" Y/n take care of her I will just buy food for us", Mom said and leaves the room.

I hugged her tight. I just hope it can soothe the pain but still it wasn't. Who would not be in pain if her mother die? Well I know she is a really strong person. It is just sad because her mom didn't say her last words for Hyeonseo.
She is now awake and also your mom came in with some foods.

"Come on eat Hyeonseo, you need strength", you said as you came closet to her. She pulls you into a hug and cried on your shoulder.

" Promise me you won't leave me Y/n, you're my only strength right now", she said.

"Of course why would I leave my one and only best friend", you replied.

" But girls you need to eat to have some strength ", your mom said.

" Thank you Mrs. -", she was cut off by you mom's words.

"Call me Mom", my mom said with a smile.

" Thank you M-Mom", she said and also gives her a hug. Your mom gives you the food and you all start to dig in to your plates.

"Would you never mind if I ask something? ", you asked Hyeonseo.

" Yes, of course what is it? ", she replied.

" About what you said earlier that you're all alone, what does it mean? I just think about where is your dad or other relatives? ", you asked her.

" Oh, about that. My Mom and Dad broke up since I was a kid. And for about my relatives, they hated my Mom for having a child in such a young age ", she said.

" Oh I'm sorry about that", you said.

"Well from now on you can be part of our family too", your mom said.

" Thank you so much Mrs- I mean Mom", she said and gives a fake smile. Well she can smile but that smile screams pain.

"Be used to it, now continue your food", your mom said.

It's been a few days since Mrs Lee had been burried and also as the day passes Hyeonseo is just locking her self in a room. She is still in their house so she could let out the pain that she feels.Me and my mom just leave her like that because we know that it will help her to move on. You just places the food on the table and let her know that the food was there and leaves. Well thanks that it was summer so we won't have to worry about school.
