Marinette
When I was nine, I not only discovered designing, but the violin. I never told anyone about being able to play the violin, but it's been one of my favorite things to do when I'm not designing or taking classes. Every year in Paris, I would hold a concert and play for kids in the park. All of them being Christmas melodies. My favorite one to play would have to be I Saw Three Ships. I only sing on Your a Mean One Mr. Grinch, but it's a lot of fun to get the kids involved. No one I know goes to the park I perform at, so it was nice.
I sighed, and pulled out my violin, running my hand over the wood and strings. It's a beautiful masterpiece, and I knew exactly what I was going to do for Christmas.
I looked up the nearest Orphanage, called ahead before I baked my heart away.
It took three hours, but I got all the treats done, and a lot of hot chocolate/apple cider made. I made multiple trips to my car, before grabbing my violin and making my way to the orphanage. Wayne Orphanage in fact."Thank you so much for doing this. When we got your call, we were shocked. No one does this kind of thing in Gotham." The lady said.
I smiled and shook my head. "It's a good thing I'm not from Gotham. And I'm more then happy to do this. I also made treats if you want to help me get them out of the trunk." I said, setting my violin down by the door.
The place was big and gloomy, like the rest of Gotham. And I frowned. There weren't any decorations, or staking's on the wall. I was definitely planning another trip. But I had to ask, so I waited till we were outside.
"Where are all the decorations?" I asked the caretaker.
She frowned. "Mr. Wayne only gives us enough money for food and clothing's. And house maintenance. We barely have enough money for small presents, like candy."
I frowned. "I'll see what I can do." I stated, determination taking over my features.
"Oh, please don't. Your already doing so much, we can't possibly take more from you."
"I want to. It's Christmas for heavens sake."
I closed the trunk, and we walked back into the gloomy building. We passed out cookies, drinks, and napkins to the kids, before we gathered them into the dinning hall where I performed for them. And the smiles on their faces was amazing. And the tears running down the cheeks of the caretakers proved that they don't smile often.
"Alright, have you guys seen the show the Grinch Stole Christmas?" I asked. A collective yes rang through the hall. And I smiled, "sing along if you know the words." And I began the song. And the whole hall was booming with the chorus of the popular song. And I was close to tears when I had to leave. And so where they. So I promised to come back next week and perform again. And so started the weekly visits.~~~~~~~~Three Weeks Later~~~~~
There were cries down the hall, as I was leaving. Me being the caring person I am, followed the cries to see a very distressed caretaker.
"Tammy, what's wrong?" I asked setting my violin down and rushing to her side.
"I just got an email from Mr. Wayne. He can't give us the money for any presents. The little bit we normally have is gone now. What am I going to tell the children?"
Now I was pissed. In the three weeks I've been visiting, I've been bringing decorations to this place to make it more Christmas in here. I brought a fake tree, lights, tinsel, ornaments, and stalkings.
"Don't worry. We'll figure something out." I whispered, rubbing her back gently. And I knew exactly what I would be doing. On my way home, I was driving with rage in my soul. And I wasn't thinking clearly, but I needed to do it. So I drive to Wayne Manor and knocked on the door. I tried to calm down, so I didn't snap at the person that opened the door, but I was pissed. Every child should experience Christmas. An old man with an English accent opened the door.
"Hello, what can I do for you?"
"I need to speak with Mr. Wayne." I stated and crossed the threshold.
"Just a moment, I'll go get him. And what is your name?"
"Mari." I stated.
He nodded and walked off. The manor was decorated and smelled like pine trees. And it only fueled my anger. A grown man with an ugly Christmas sweater walked by with a cup of something. A few seconds later, Bruce Wayne himself walked over to me and held his hand out. I didn't take it.
"This isn't going to be pleasant. I want to know, somewhere in that twisted soul of yours, if you have a heart? Because, I just came from your orphanage, and the halls weren't decorated, and there was no joy. And today, Tammy gets an email from you saying you can't give them the little bit of money they usually get to give them candy. What is wrong with you? Your oldest is from an Orphanage and you do this?! I'm not normally someone to come to a persons house to yell at them, but your an ass hole. Your just as bad as Ebeneezer Scrooge! Good Lord! Give Tammy some money, or so help me god, I'm going to ruin you! Every child deserves Christmas, and I have some very powerful people in high places. Don't test me!" I yelled before storming out of the manor, leaving very baffled and angry people behind me.
