It's really dark now. My clothes are still wet and I'm exhausted. I shiver. "Peter, can we pause for a moment?" He looks at me and notice I'm shivering. "Sure, are you cold?" I nod. "A little bit. But I'm fine." He takes of his vest and gives it to me. "Here, that will help." "Thank you Peter." I look at him. He's only wearing a thin shirt now. "Aren't you getting cold now?" He shakes his head. "A little bit, but I'll be fine. You need it more than I do at the moment." He smiles. "The camp is still pretty far away. We'll spend the night here." He makes a small campfire and sets it on fire by waving his hand. "This will keep you warm. Try to sleep, I'll watch over you." I lie down next to him, resting my head in my hands. The fire is nice and warm and I soon fall in a dreamless sleep.
When I wake up it's already light. Peter's sitting next to me. He probably sat there the whole night, watching over me. I smile. He's actually so different than I thought he was. Not just cold and dangerous, but also caring and sweet. He notice me smiling. "Morning, did you sleep well?" He smiles. "Yeah, pretty good." I stretch my legs. "Are we heading back to the camp now?" "No, first you eat the breakfast I made." He says, pointing to a small pan with eggs in it. I eat it quickly, I didn't eat since I met Tink. After that, we leave the small camp and continue walking. After a while, we arrive at the edge of the woods. There's a huge cliff and no bridge. "Uuhm Peter, is this all part of the route?" "Yes it is." He smiles. "Just trust me okay?" "Well...." Before I could even finish my answer, Peter lifts me up and start to run towards the cliff. "Peter, what the hell are you doing?!" He doesn't answer, just keeps running. "Peter stop!" I yell. He jumps. I close my eyes and scream. But... we're not falling. "You can open your eyes now love." Peter laughs. I open my eyes. We're flying! "Peter. Pan. That. Was. Not. Funny." I say, hitting his chest with my fists by every word. He only laughs. "Stop laughing Pan. You could've dropped me!" I give him an angry face, but he keeps laughing. "You really think that I'd drop you, after all the hard work I did saving your ass from that bloody mermaid? I'm not an idiot Gwen." I laugh. As we're flying for a while, I get used to the height. I can see the whole island. It's beautiful. After a while I can see the camp. Peter lands outside and we silently walk to his hut. "You can stay in my hut for tonight, I don't think that you're really in the mood to see the boys, especially Devin." He adds the last words laughing. "Stop it Peter. I feel really sorry for him. I was just angry." I push him softly. "It's okay Gwen, he shouldn't have been such a jerk." He winks. "I'm going outside to tell the boys I found you and you want to be left alone. Make yourself at home." He walks to the door. "Wait Peter, your vest!" I run over him to give him his vest, but I trip. He catches me just in time. "Sorry." I say. We stare at each other, our noses almost touching each other. I close my eyes and lean in. Peter pushes me away quickly and I see something change in his eyes. It looked a bit like..... fear? "Be a little more careful next time." He says and he walks out. I stay behind, a bit confused.
