I stepped out of the truck, being helped out a by James, due to my small figure. This place was extremely large, with multiples military cars and a very high ceiling, with many bright lights illuminating the garage. I was able to recognize the cars that the others had riden in, but there were no familiar faces.
"Ray? Joe? Michael?" I shouted, looking around for them. My head began pounding again and I started getting dizzy. What is going on?
"Pharah, they are gone eating some food, you can join them as soon as we finish up the tests on you." James said, holding me from behind. I felt protected, happy that James would be helping me out. "Are you ok? Here, sit here and I'll get you some water." He guided me to a nearby chair, which I promptly sat on, hoping my headache would go away. Soon, James handed me some water, with a few ice cubes floating on top of it.
"Thank you," I said, and chugged the water down. Hands down, the best water I had ever drank, we would drink this water that tasted like antibacterial properties. When I finished my glass, I handed it over to James, "so, what are the tests that I'm doing?"
"Just a quick body check, we want to take in as much phisycal information of you as we can."
"No needles?" I said, looking at my inner left arm. I still have nightmares about this.
"None, I promise you." He said, putting his hand on top of it, his thumb slightly rubbing the area. "Come along, let's go to the doctor and get your tests taken, and see what we can do about your scalp."
I got up with James and we headed out of the garage, and walked through a long corridor, with many offices inside of it, along with a few soldiers. We soon entered this vast and open area, with some civilians, mostly soldiers, walking around.
"This way," he gestured me to a large place, the doctors office. We headed towards it as I admired the many people walking around this place, living a, what seems to be, a pretty normal life. "This used to be a mall, Florida's biggest mall, actually. The military has located themselves here since there is an extremely elevated number of sources."
We walked inside the little hospital, and turned left, where an area was covered in curtains. "Do I go in there?" I said pointing at the curtains.
"Yes. I'll wait for you outside here, I've let them know about your head issue." He said. He planted a kiss on my forehead and headed outside the hospital, socializing with the others.
I opened the curtain and headed inside the area, where a female in a lab coat awaited for me.
"Sarah-" she said but quickly realized her mistake. "Sorry, Pharah, is that how you pronounce it?" She excused herself. I nodded my head, being a little scared of her. "Good, now this may be very unpleasant, but you're going to have to strip down naked so we can take some correct body measurements."
"Um, alright." I said.
After the, surprisingly, ok checkup, they fixed my scalp and told me that I could go do whatever I wanted, but I had to go see James before, so I could get more instruction. He waited for me outside, but this time, with a bag.
"Pharah," he said, bringing me in for a hug, which I warmly accepted. We stayed like this for a few seconds, not caring about the world until we let go of our hug. "Follow me, I'll show you where you will live. You are always allowed to move in with someone, or upgrade your room to make it bigger. The closest to the floor, the bigger the rooms. Your friends will be on the 14th floor, while you will live on the 9th floor."
We started walking to the far left of the mall, where something had been obviously added in recently. "Why am I in the 9th floor? What's so different about me from them, apart from the fact that I'm immune? And where do you live?"
"You're going to start working in the military, only for temporary work thought. You and a few others will be going around Florida to hand out the prevention vaccine and tell them where they have to to. Your friends won't be part of this, but we are letting them live here as a gift, so you won't feel too lonely here. It will give you an great reward, Pharah, you'll get more opportunities then most people, since the microbe inside your body was much more effective and worked faster than the antibiotics, so, we have made copies of a few of them and will be offering it to the people of the world." He said, as we entered the apartment's section. There were only a few doors down on this level, meaning there were only a few houses here, I only counted 10, but this floor was twice the size of a football field. "And I live on the 5th level." He added.
"Interesting." I said, as we both entered the elevator door and let it shut. "I like it."
"Yeah, me too." He said, pushing me against the elevator wall, putting his hands around me so I couldn't escape. We kissed slowly, it went from a peaceful kiss to a violent one, multiple kisses escaping from yourself. I punched the lock button on the elevator, making it stop moving so this moment could last longer. Our height difference made it quite challenging to do this, but I always loved a challenge. Still on the wall, he grabbed both of my thighs and brought me up, as we continued our steaming moment in this elevator, but soon, the lock on the elevator turned off, and started going up again. We let go of each other and fixed each other up. Our elevator ride was short, and soon we were off to the 9th level.
"9-G will be your new apartment. Come." he said, grabbing my hand. It made my legs wobbly, a bunch of butterflies flew right inside of my stomach. We walked hand in hand over to my new house, and to prepare a new chapter for everyone.
