We first saw each other that month.
It was a whole new year, and the class Christmas party was late but extravagant. I went, and so did you. I finally got to see the mysterious Calum everyone talked about.
I didn't know you, I was too afraid to speak to you.
I did think you were cute, and I was about to say 'hello'--but then there she was. Like a lark, she perched on your knee, whispering sweet nothings and lullabies into your ear. You smiled, and your eyes were only for her, and I knew right then--there was no chance of I becoming we.
