Love is in the Air

Bella's POV
I woke up on the warm sand and looked around. It wasn't a dream after all I thought to myself, I got up and dusted myself off. All of the boys were still asleep besides Jack who was sitting by the ocean thinking to himself. I walked over to him and plopped down, "Whatcha doing?" I asked giving him a soft smile. "Just thinking about life at home." he said staring me dead in the eye. Oh how it hurt to think about home, Sunday mornings fighting with Hannah about who would wear the cute dress to church.
     "Well let's get to know each other." I said shrugging. "Sounds good!" he said happily, "Okay do you have any siblings?" I asked. "One older brother, Noah." he said rolling his eyes, "What about you?" he asked. "I have an older sister, Hannah, and an older brother, Wyatt." I said thinking about them. "How old are you?" I asked secretly hoping he was my age. "I'm 16" he said chuckling "But Bella, I want to hear about your life at home, what's it like?" he asked.
  
     "Well my life at home isn't the prettiest, My mom died six months ago due to breast cancer. Meanwhile my dad is never home, my sister is this perfect princess and my brother is in the air force." I said, "I get in trouble all the time, I try my best but my dad is never home to discipline me so he sent me to 'Mrs. Hattie's Finishing School For Girls' little did he know that's the last thing I want." I said holding back tears. "I'm so sorry." he said placing his gentle hand on mine. "What about you, what's your life like." I said hoping to lift the mood. "My parents put me in this private school, it didn't suit me but since they have money they want me to have a good education. Anyways fast forward to last month, I borrowed my neighbors car and drove it down the highway." he said shyly. "But aren't you old enough to drive?" I asked laughing slightly. "I am but my parents didn't want me getting a license, but the cops caught me and arrested me." he said, "And that's why you are sent to military school?" I questioned. "Yes." he said and I put my head on his shoulder.

The rest of the boys woke up, we spent the first part of the morning exploring and picking fruits and getting water. All of a sudden a loud trumpet noise came from the beach, it was Ralph, him and Piggy had found a conch. "Is this like an assembly sir?" a little boy asked. "Yes except everybody who wants to speak gets to." Ralph explained firmly, "Not unless you got the conch." Piggy said. Ralph nodded at Piggy and said, "There are a few things we need to get out of the way, one is introducing ourselves.  I will pass the conch around and everyone will say their name and age.
We went around the circle starting with Ralph, "I'm Ralph and I am 16." then he passed it to Piggy then to me, "I'm Bella Taylor and I am 16 years old." then passed it to Jack. "I'm Merridew, Jack Merridew and i'm sixteen." and the conch made its way around the circle.

"Second thing we need to do is set up some sort of steady signal, like a fire, and finally we need shelters." he said. "We need a chief!" Roger, the boy who sat next to me on the plane said. "I think it should be Jack because he's the oldest." one shouted but the majority said Ralph.
      The meeting had ended, Ralph was officially chief, and Ralph and I went to keep fire watch. "I saw you with Jack earlier." he said frowning, "Yeah he's easy to talk to." I said sort of confused. "I know this is kind of personal but do you have feelings for him." he asked looking at the ground. "I don't know who I have feelings for." I told him placing my hand on his. He looked at me, it was a look of love. All of a sudden Jack and Roger walked over to the fire, Jack sat on the other side of me.

      "Bella, can I talk to you?" he said.

Author's Note

Hey everyone this is a bit of a cliffhanger for you. And don't worry i'm going to make sure Bella and Simon become friends. Another thing I want to include is Ralph being really protective since he seems like the type. Anyway, vote and tell your friends and leave ideas. Chapter 4 should be out soon!
