"Fine, Fine." I gradually managed to slow down the hot tears, wiped my eyes with my palms, and swiped up whatever gunk was left under my nostrils with the sleeve of my jacket. "Have I already gone loco enough to be speaking to the voice in my mind?"
I turn my head around just in time to hear a pained shriek echo through to my ears. Instinctively, I raise my hands to cover both sides to tune out whatever- or - whoever produced the deafening sound.
Moments pass and I feel my eyes nearly bulge out of their sockets as I notice puny holes. At first all I acknowledged was the slightest dots several metres apart from one another. As they ever so slowly grew and grew, my senses knocked on the door to my brain. The three unpredictable tunnels have returned once again. Now wide enough for my slender body to crawl through with still room to spare.
The scream comes again, catching me off guard, this time traveling from the pitch black tunnel. The center upon the three. It takes another high-pitched yelp for me to come to a conclusion that this sound is coming from no other than a human being. I can't explain- even to myself- why I am even interested in finding the owner of the voice. But in the back of my mind I knew they were in deep trouble.
Whoever this person is, I need to get to them.
