Kiyo POV

I looked at the body which had already become pale. The head was twisted at an angle which might horrify a normal person. There's no doubt about it. My girlfriend was dead.

No.

She had been killed.

I felt the cold air pricking my skin as I looked at the ground.

There was already a crowd forming around the body. I could see the figures of some girls crying. I could see Yousuke muttering something to himself.

A forensic team had already started to load the body in a trailer.

Kei.. My girlfriend... My textbook to the concept of love.... She was, without a shred of doubt, dead.

I closed my eyes and tried to remember our time together.

The bullied girl, whose spirit was shattered to pieces by her past, was slowly but steadily growing as a person. Given a few more months, she would have most likely broken free of her past.

She would have no longer needed a host.

I sighed deeply.

What a waste.

It was a mutually beneficial relationship. I wanted to change myself and break free of the cast that my father had moulded me into. However, I wanted it to develop into something deeper. I wanted her to become an essential part of my life. She might have become a physical form of my resistance against that man's ideals - a symbol of my existence.

Guess I won't be her host any longer.

No.

Guess I won't be her boyfriend any longer.

I opened my eyes.

Time to get serious.

Horikita approached me and asked,"What will you do?"

I looked straight ahead to look at a certain someone standing on the terrace of a certain building.

"Isn't that obvious?", I replied.

"I am going to destroy him."

Rex POV

I looked at the boy from the terrace. He seemed to have noticed me.

"That's a scary look. I guess I know why the Council is interested in him."

The Council.

They could have certainly chosen a better word.

Mysterious existences. That's the only way I could describe them as. They appeared to be omniscient but I didn't think they were Gods. Their behaviour was quite odd. It's almost as if they worshipped that boy.

"Why though?"

Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, surely you are an exceptional human being but was that really all?

I took a deep breath and tried to clam myself.

"At least you could have named me better."

That boy would surely come after me. I would have to finish preparations quickly.

Kiyo POV

I tried to think about it objectively. I had a pretty good idea of who was the culprit but I had no intentions of cooperating with the staff. I would act on my own.

That guy Rex.

He was suspicious. I had no real evidence to frame him but I had a very strong feeling that he had something to do with Kei's murder.
