A BTS V Fantasy Fanfic:
Taehyung lives an ordinary life. Maybe even a bit of a boring one. When he walks into a creature he only believed to exist in fairytales, his world turns upside down.
Something more than just curiosity grows between the two...
The girl was so pale, really the palest he had ever seen. Her eyes looked like they only consisted of sclera not having any irises. Her torso was naked with only her chest area covered in white scales and her hair was dripping wet covering all of her back. The most shocking part was that she had no legs or feet at all. Instead a very long white tail dangled down the rock with huge fins at the end of it

"A mermaid" he spoke under his breath more to himself than to her.
"I am NOT a mermaid!" she gritted between her teeth.
At first he thought it could have been a costume of some sort but after seeing her grow claws and fangs, it couldn't be fake...
"Then what are you?" he repeated softly keeping his tone low and sweet. At the same time his eyes wandered all over her still not believing what he was seeing. The girl however did not reply to him anymore.
Then Taehyung suddenly but very slowly stook his hand out to her. Her fangs instantly showed again once his hand came too close. A loud growl escaped her lips this time making Taehyung freeze in his spot.
He wanted some form of physical contact. Just to make sure his eyes really weren't deceiving him. However, he had noticed she wouldn't let him touch her in the slightest bit and so he very slowly and carefully turned his hand around. The palm of his hand now facing up, asking her to touch him instead.
"It's ok, I won't hurt you"
The girl also did not move and kept her gaze on him and his hand at all times. Fangs and claws still out too.
But Taehyung was determined to get his answer. He didn't move a single inch and let the girl have a moment to herself. Slowly but surely her fangs and claws disappeared, a very cute and shy face appeared.
At first she wasn't sure what he wanted but after a minute or so she slowly stook her hand out to his. Very very slowly getting closer. Her eyes wandering from his down to their hands and back up.
Being so close to touching him her hand trembled slightly. Very carefully she stroke the tips of his fingers, Taehyung not moving at her light touch. Her hand slowly traced down his fingers into his palm.
That was the moment Taehyung decided moving again and slowly closed his fingers touching the back of her hand. Her hand felt cold and so he pulled his hand back unzipping his jacket quickly.
The girl, surprised by the sudden movement, quickly pulled her hand back. Taehyung took another step forward and was very careful and slow in placing his jacket over her shoulders. She cowered at the touch of the fabric and wasn't sure why the boy thought this was necessary.
The waves were still crashing against the rocks and became even bigger and stronger as only half of the sun was still visible by now. A big wave hit the rock the girl was sitting on so hard, it reached her fins.
She suddenly let out a very loud and high pitched yelp pulling her tail up onto the rock. Taehyung lost his balance and fell back thinking the yell was directed at him at first. He quickly regained himself after realizing she was in pain.
"You're bleeding" he spoke with his voice now full of concern and his eyes glued to the end of her tail.
She had hurt herself earlier when she jumped down the cliff. The tides were too strong for her and pushed her back into the rocks. Running into Taehyung for the second time she couldn't escape from him as the salty water hurt her open wound. If she wasn't careful she could attract sharks too. Not wanting to risk it, she was stuck on this rock.
Taehyung then ripped a piece from the end of his white shirt and was still very careful and slow around the girl. He slowly made his way to her fins and kneeled down next to it. To his surprise he didn't get any reaction from her.
He softly wrapped the piece of cloth around her tail right above her fins and warned her before tightening the knot "This might hurt a bit but it needs pressure, ok?"
The girl wouldn't do anything but stare at him and so he quickly tightened the knot making her yelp loudly once again. "Done! I'm sorry" he quickly apologized not knowing what was to come as he held his hands up showing her he wouldn't touch her anymore.
The girl looked down at her tail and tried moving it a bit. A soft painful moan escaped her lips while doing so. Taehyung had also been getting a closer look at her tail. It felt very cold, slippery like any fish and real. The sunset made her white scales glow reflecting the sun's light.
"I have to go" she suddenly spoke taking off Tae's jacket. Seeing the daylight disappear she realized for how long she had been here.
She didn't speak much so it surprised Taehyung whenever she did. Seeing her turn to the water his eyes widened.
"No! The tides, you're wounded, it's dangerous"
She raised an eyebrow at the boy.
"Let me carry you to a safer place at least."
But she wasn't dumb. She wasn't supposed to be here. She wasn't supposed to come in contact with a human. They spoke and she let him touch her, that crossed the line already. She was powerless on land. Who knew where he would take her.
She waited for another wave to hit the rocks jumping right over it. Taehyung reached out for her too late to stop her. He gasped at her sudden action looking down in panic.
Finally she stuck her head out of the water flipping her hair back. Staying under the water was too much pressure for her to handle.
Taehyung let out a sigh of relieve but could tell she was definitely struggling.
The girl had to use all her strength swimming against the water pressure and so she was much slower than usual. Her injury made it even worse too and a bit painful.
"Hey, wait!" Taehyung got up quickly following the girl for as long as he could. The ground was very uneven and so he had to be careful not to slip.
"Will I see you again?"
The girl however completely ignored him and just wanted to get away as fast as she could. She couldn't afford being seen by anyone else and the boy yelling at her didn't help at all.
"Tell me your name at least"
Taehyung had reached the furthest safe rock he could climb on and was left powerless.
The girl had made it through the toughest part and had reached waters that were slightly more calm. Looking back over her shoulder she looked at the boy in the eyes for a last time.
He gave her this 'don't go' look.
"You don't want to be involved with me" she lastly spoke before diving deep under.
