Lose The Fat Or Lose A Friend

Part 1

I’m fat and my friends aren’t. Becky and Lilly are so slim, basically the definition of beautiful. Me on the other hand well, I’m not so ravishing. I know I’m not blond or as fit as Becky. I’m not tall and I don’t have colored eyes like Lilly. However I was okay with my apple shaped figure, thick brown hair and fair skin. That didn’t bother me. Lilly on the contrary, was appalled to hear that I wasn’t trying to lose weight. As we walked into Forever 21 I spotted a solid red dress. The tight kind that go up to your thighs. I walked towards it, picked it up and showed it to Becky. She loved it so I tried it on. As I opened the dressing room door and stepped out to show Becky the dress Lilly walks in with a pile of clothes. She immediately stops when she sees me. I eagerly wait to hear what she thinks. Before saying a thing she giggles then says. “My God Amy, you better not be serious! You look like a freaking oversized tomato for peats sake.” “I sort of like it and so does Becky. She said the red compliments my brown hair and fair skin.” I reply with a self-conscious tone in my voice and a hot face. My face was cherry red of embarrassment I could feel it. That didn’t shut Lilly up though. “What? Are you both blind or something? Your thighs are way to massive for that dress and don’t even get me started on your nonexistent waist. Man you really need to start losing weight.” Becky quickly jumped in and said, “ what the hell crawled up your ass and bit you! Leave her alone she’s not even that fat, shit man you really need to watch what you say!” Lilly hair flips and rolls her eyes at Becky while saying “Well I’m just stating the obvious.” Without saying anything else she walks into the fitting room and shuts the door behind her. Becky turns to look at me and says“ I’m sorry Amy, I think you look great.” I couldn’t speak. For a moment it felt as though I had forgotten how to speak. The only thing holding back my tears was the knot in my throat.
