You look down at your Apple Watch : 1-2-3 GO.
And you're off, running straight into your normal hiking trail. Everyday, you would run 5 miles up and down the trail, passing by familiar faces who walk around the trail as well.
About 1 hour in, you stopped to take a break at the benches. Your familiar stop, which had an amazing view of the city. A quick breather and you were off again...
2 hours in, you were running to your next stop. There was already a person there which was surprising because no one usually goes this far.
You stop there anyway. He was sitting on one of the sides of the benches. He was lean, shirtless, and was drinking his water. It was so beautiful. He had a clean shave and a good 6 pack.
"Hey"- you greeted, sitting down. You were also out of breath
He looks over to you and chokes on his water. "Oh hey. Sorry, I don't usually see people up here"
"Yeah, neither do I"- you giggled as he tries to clean up his water
"How long you've been running?"- he asked closing his water
"6 years, you?"- you responded, calming your heart rate down
"6 years as well. You run here?"- he asked, a little curiosity sparked his tone
"Yeah, same trail since day one. Funny how I never saw you"- you laughed
"Yeah, I'm always here since I first started too"- he chuckled, turning to face you, scanning you up and down
"Well, I'm off, I'll see you again sometime"- you joked and waved
"Wait, I-
You started jogging before he could finish. Worse decision you've ever made. You didn't get a name, a number, or even a fact. You just rolled it off your shoulder and forgot about it.When you got to the entrance again, you began walking home. You checked both sides of the parking lot to make sure you could pass. When you checked you're right side, you saw him again.
But he was driving a a sports car, and with a girl in his passenger seat. She looked way to young to be a mom, and way to good of a car to be driving Uber.
You're chances were screwed. He was right there an you didn't pull a move. He looked over his side window to make a turn, and your eyes met.
You just put up a light smile and back out. You can see in the corner of your eye his little wave.

The next day, you went to work. A little coffee shop down the street from your apartment. There were only 3 people working today, and a new hire. His name was James and he came in a few days ago looking for a new job. You guys are close, he always sticks with you during lunch and breaks."Morning Sid, you look awful"- James joked from the cashier counter
"Thanks, tried to match your tone for once"- you teased back, lightly nudging him on the shoulder
He lets out a soft chuckle and nudges you back, causing you to fall back a little. James a quick to realize and place his arm behind your back and pull you in.
You guys were inches away from each other's faces. "Thanks for the save J-dawg"
"J-dawg? I save you from potential brain damage and I get 'J-dawg'?"- he bubbled
"Haha J-dawg is an amazing complement by the way"- you gushed
"Uh, are you guys okay?"- another employee called out, looking at our body positions
We forgot to realize that we where still in the same spot as when James caught you.
"Oh, yeah. Uh-I'll see you later, well, I mean we work together, I'll see y-you—
"I'll see you on break, James"- you said rubbing his shoulder to calm him down
He let out a sigh and smiled at you for understanding. He has a horrible stuttering problem when he gets nervous.
The day went on as usual. A few customers now and then, and you guys met up on break as usual. A few minutes before closing, you turned off all the open signs and closed all the blinds. All the other employees left, leaving you and James behind. James was clocking out, clocking you out as well...
"Are you guys still open?" a random man walks in the door
"No sorry. We close in 5" James responded, looking back down at the computer
"So you aren't closed?" the man speaks again
You turn around..and to your surprise, it was him. The guy you saw on the trail. "Oh! It's you again! I saw you at the trail yesterday" he reminded
"Yes you did, but sadly, we are closing," you remarked
"No.., I think you close in" he looks down at his watch.."3 minutes," he said smiling up at you.
He was right. But the customer's always right. You just rolled your eyes and put your apron back on.
"Welcome to Paris Cafe, what can I get you today, this fine, late evening" you dragged
"Thank you. Can I get a large vanilla mocha with ice and a black hot coffee" he ordered, bring a large sarcastic smile to your face.
"Your total is 16.50, can I get a name" you rung up, tapping on the screen.
"Tyler Adams," he said, pulling out his wallet.
"Is the Tyler with or without the ass" you growled
"With, if it's yours I'm getting" he teased
"Very funny, you're order will be up in 5," you said, giving his cash back
"Thanks..." he leans to read your name tag. "Sidney Brown"
You went to the back and started making his order. Tyler went to go sit down at one of the just cleaned seats and made himself comfortable. He swung a foot up on the table and leaned over to make sure you saw. You caught his eye, he smirked at pointed at his leg.
"Excuse me, sir, you can't have your feet up on the furniture" James reminded as he cleans off some remaining tables
"My fault" he begs, putting his foot down.
You let out a soft giggle, and that seems to attract Tyler's attention. He looked over at you and spotted you smiling. He chuckled back and scratched his head.
When you finish, you put his drinks on the counter and called him over. He got up and got his drink. "Maybe we should meet up sometime, making up for how you basically left me hanging yesterday"
"Yeah probably not after this" you said sarcastically.
"My treat?" he suggested
You thought about it for a while.
"How about this, you call me and let me know." he slides out a business card with his name and phone number
"Sure" reading the card "CEO of The Adams Industries" you mocked
He grinned and walked out the door.
