A month later Kageyama got better at volleyball. He did liked how Oikawa sets and wanted to learn from him as he looked up to Oikawa. Even Oikawa knew that Kags looked up to him. Kageyama was nervous as he was holding a ball amd walked towards Oikawa who was standing alone.
•Kageyama pov• I was nervous to ask Oikawa if he could teach me how to set like him. I slowly walked up to him building up my courage along the way. As I stopped behind him, I can see he was a bit taller than me, I'm not Jealous I am still growing. I tugged on his jacket getting his attention. He turned around and looked a bit down at me "what" he replied. Uhm I was w-wondering if you could teach m-me how to set like you..?
•Oikawa pov• I looked down at Kags blueberry eyes as he asked me to teach him to set like me. I laugh a bit. He looked at me confused. I then said, "and you thought I would teach you." So its a no? He said. Your right. Oh.. Okay he sadly walked away.
•Kageyama pov• He said no... I frowned. Those words hurt.. I really wanted to set like him I thought he was actually cool. I wanted to get along with him. So that's why I asked if he could teach me. Then I thought maybe I don't need him to teach me I can watch his movements and practice them myself. I evily smiled as I knew what I needed to do. A couple of practices I watch how Oikawa did his sets and when I use to practice alone I would practice Oikawa sets. I taught myself from Oikawa sets. I was proud of myself that I celebrated with drinking milk.
•a few weeks later before the match• I got a call from someone I didn't know but I decided to picked up. Hello? "Hello is this Tobio Kageyama?" Yes This is Kageyama "I'm sorry to inform you that your grandfather is in the hospital". I stopped as I taught is he gonna leave me too? I ended the call and I told coach that I had to go which he let me go. I ran all the to the hospital, I speed walked to the front desk and I been told which room he was in. I made my way to the room just to see him in bed not looking good.
Grandfather... Grandfather looked at Kageyama and smiled a bit. Your here Kageyama. Y-you cant leave me too.. A tear ran down my cheek as I sat next to him by the bed. He wipe my tears with his thumb and said. "I'm sorry kiddo but please promise me to stay strong, make me proud okay? Hmm? I know you can do it. I will always be with you...
Please don't l-leave me.. He see his grandfather sadly smile. "It will be alright its almost time.. Promise me that you will make me proud.. Do what you love.. Volleyball I p-promise as I knew he was slowly closing his eyes.. I blinked then the monitor went dead.. I wiped my tears. I had a match tomorrow I can't lose this he will make his grandfather proud.He went home and slept early.
*Next day* I woke up and walked past the room where he slept in.. I was sad he is gone but I was determined to make him proud at the match today he had to. It was his promise. He ate then got ready to go, as he made his way to school he saw his teammates. His teammates didn't know about his situation. They took the bus to another school for their match. we walk into a gym to see the other team we were up against. We won the first set, then lost the second set.. The third set they were ahead.
It was my turn to set to Kunimi and I set it up to him and he miss which caused the other team to get the point. The second try Kunimi missed again. I got frustrated I really wanted to win to make Grandfather proud. The other team was at set point which means of they get the last point its over I can't let that happen. I set it up to Kunimi it missed..it was over they lost. Kunimi: hey Kags its alright I snapped. NO IT WASNT HOW COULD YOU MISSED MY SETS WE WERE SUPPOSED TO WIN WE HAD TO. Tears were started to brim my eyes. MY SETS WERE GOOD WHY DIDNT YOU HIT THEM OVER. kunimi:Kags.. It was fast then how you usually set.. THE FASTER IT IS WE GET THE POINTS, AND YOU COULDN'T HIT EVERY SETS I GAVE YOU I stopped at what happened. Did I really said that? I looked back at my teammates who looked down and left me.. I was alone.. They hated me. Until that's when Kindachi said "well King of the court not everything goes your way we lost because of you. Then they all left. I walked home thinking.
I made us lose? Me? I broke the promise I couldn't make Grandfather proud. I looked up to see the stars. I'm sorry Grandfather as a tear fell down, I quickly wiped them off. I broke the one promise before he left me. What have I become.. I lost my teammates they didn't like me anymore.. Everyone around called me a king.. I hated the name..
I realized I had no one as I was at home and laid down on my bed looking up at the ceiling. I'm alone.. That's when he changed he got angry alot.
