It Started With A Dare

Chapter 8: 5th year

(A\N: This is a time skip to the beginning of the 5th year, when Umbrige arrives)

Draco's POV

     I was laying in bed when, around 4 in the morning. I was wide awake. For what reason? I don't know myself. "Might as well get up.." I thought to myself. I got up and i changed. I walked to my window and i climbed out of it. Soon i made in to the roof and i sat there, looking at the stars. I laid there in the quiet. I heard crickets chirping in the distance. I sat up and i looked around. The stars were out, it was still dark even though it was around 4 in the morning, some fireflies where glowing while flying and the albino peacock was walking around. I admired the view. I looked over to the horizon and i saw the sun slowly begging to peak out. "Today i go back to Hogwarts... I should get my stuff ready" I thought to myself. Slowly i began to climb back down, once i made it inside my room and i began to pack my robes, suits, ties, and belongings. Soon i was finished and i laid back down on my bed. "Dray Dray" I heard a voice so i sat up. "Morning dear" My mother's voice was heard  from the door. "Morning mother" I replied. She walked over and sat down on my bed. 

     She looked at me and smiled. "My baby boy is all big now.." She said, tears forming in her eyes. "I'm not a baby mother.." I replied, half smiling. "You will always be my baby" She said softly, putting her hand in her pocket.  She pulled out a small box with a green and red wrapping. I looked up at her. "What's that for?" I asked her. She only smiled and stretched her hand towards mine. "Open it" She told me and i nodded. I took it in my hand and i slowly opened it. Inside was a small black ring. It had a solid part in the bottom then it split into two, it had a green emerald in the middle and one of the sides went under while the other went over the emerald. I smiled t it. "Thank you mother" I looked up at her, still smiling. "There's a quote engraved into the bottom of it." She told me and i looked on the inside. Inside were the words "You are stronger, smarter and faster then you think" I smiled at it. "Thanks mother" I thanked her. She got up and walked to the door. "Get ready for the train." She told me, her back facing me. "Ok mother."

At Hogwarts 

     I was sitting at the Slytherin table. Dumbledore stood up "Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts. For the students that are new-" He was cut off by a fake cough. I looked at the Table for Professors and i saw a familiar woman in bright pink clothes. "Who is she?" "Why did she cut him off?" "She's either really brave or stupid to interrupt Professor Dumbledore" I heard students mumble to one another.  I looked around and i saw many students with a shocked look on their faces. I looked back in the direction of the professors. Dumbledore looked mad but he stepped back. The short woman in pink clothes cleared her throat. "Students i am Dolores Umbrige, High Inquisitor oh the Ministry. I've come to fix this school. Starting with the students." She looked at all the students, with a smile but her eyes were cold and dark. "I heard that the old Sorting Hat allowed some students to chose a house, if a student isn't in their right house, they will not learn with all their advantages. Well the new Sorting Hat won't do that." She walked over and stoped right in front of Professor McGonagall. "You may go sit down." Professor Umbrige told Professor McGonagall. "I'll stay here, thank you very much" Professor McGonagall replied with a harsh look on her face. "Very well." Professor Umbrige took out her wand and made a wooden stool with a black cushion on the top. "When i call your name, please walk up" She started to name off students.

      After 15 minutes she made it to the fifth years. "Neville Longbottom." I saw Longbottom slowly walk to the stool and sat down. There was a small silence then the new Sorting Hat shouted, "Hufflepuff!" Longbottom looked at the Gryffindor table and smiled lightly. "I bet that Granger will be in Ravenclaw." I looked over and i saw Crabbe and Goyle making bets. I smiled slightly and them and i looked away. "Hermione Granger" Granger walked up and sat down on the stool. "Ravenclaw!" The hat shouted. I could see tears forming in her eyes. She walked over to the Ravenclaw table and she sat down. "Ronald Weasley" Weasel walked to the stool and sat down. "Gryffindor!" The hat shouted and Weasel walked back and sat down at his table. "Harry Potter" Slowly Potter stood up and walked to the stool. I noticed that his face seemed sunken in. He sat  down on the stool. It was a oddly silenced moment. "Slytherin!" The hat finally shouted. Many gasps were heard from the students. The giant Oaf, Hagrid, was wearing a shocked and scared impression. Potter slowly stood up and walked to the Slytherin table. He sat at the end. I was fairly close to the end and i looked at him, out of the corner of my eye. "looks like the Golden Boy is just as rotten as the rest of us" A Slytherin stated. "Draco Malfoy" I heard my name and i walked up to the stool, proudly, knowing that i would be placed into Slytherin once again. I sat down on the stool. "Slytherin!" I walked back and sat down again. 

     There where more students being called but my focus was on the Slytherins. "He's a dirty Slytherin, just like us." "He's just as foul as us" "The Chosen One, in Slytherin"  Different Slytherins hissed to each other.  I looked ay Potter out of the corner of my eye. He was taring at his empty plate. Every student had something of their plate to eat while Professor Umbrige Called the names. "Potter you should eat" I looked over and saw Blaise ordering Potter, pointing at food. "I'm not hungry.." Potter answered. "You should really eat Harry, unless you want to be a stick." I looked again and i saw the Weasley twins at the table. "What are you guys doing here?" Blaise asked them. "Turns out we are perfect Slytherins" George answered Blaise. We all ate, except Potter, soon the chatter began. Five or so minutes later Professor Umbridge stood up and walked around. "What is she doing?" George asked Fred. "I don't know" Fred replied. She kept walking around. Soon Professor Dumbledore stood up. "Students head to your dorms. Settle in. Tomorrow will be filled with classes. 

     The Hufflepuffs stood up first then exited the Great Hall, then were the Gryffindors then the Ravenclaws. Lastly were us, the Slytherins, we all walked to the dungeons talking to one another. I stayed close to the back and Potter was at the very end. Every now and then, he would stop. I looked over my shoulder every now and then. Potter kept walking and i did too. Soon we turned a corner and we kept walking, i looked back and saw that Potter was gone. "Blaise get Fred and George" I told Blaise. "Ok but why?" He asked me. "I'll explain as we walk ok?" I told him and he went to Fred and George.  Soon the three of them returned. "What's the problem Draco?" Blaise asked me. "Potter's gone. He was walking with us but he's not here anymore." George had a worried look on his face and Fred looked shocked. "Blaise will look on the South, Fred the North, George the East and i will take the West. If you find him take him into the common room. The password is 'Greatness'. We'll come back here in 20 minutes." With that we all parted ways. I looked close to the bridge, near the oaf's cabin but i didn't find him. I looked up at the sky and i saw the owlery. I ran there and i climbed up the stairs as fast as i could. 

Hehehe it's a cliffhanger. Sorry for not updating yesterday, my power went out and half of this wasn't saved so i had to rewrite it. I promise that there will be more Drarry in the next chapter. Thanks for 43 reads and 13 votes ヾ(•ω•')o❤. i'll update more.
