Rewritten fragments:

It took them more than a couple of minutes to leave the orphanage building. The overwhelming feeling of joy that resided in Akali could barely be contained. The young girl needed to try her hardest not to run ahead freely. She wanted nothing more than to reach the facility's gate. Her mind was filled with this single, modest, yet very tormenting thought. After all, it would mark the end of her story here. The end of a long, sad story, to be precise. She would have finally left these walls that she, unfortunately, grew accustomed to calling home. The 12-year-long nightmare would have been finally over. Maybe after some time, the unpleasant memories of that facility would have faded away, cast into the darkest part of her mind, forgotten.

The girl's freedom lingered only a few steps away from her. Thus, the temptation was that obviously. It would have been so pleasant and joyful to run away, run ahead toward the gates. Still, some rules needed to be maintained. Akali's legal guardian, Evelynn, was a big unknown, so carefreeness would have to be reserved for the future. At least for now, the raven-haired teen wanted, needed to play a perfect girl, obedient and sweet.

Finally, after a few minutes, the orphanage's doors slammed behind them, making the end of this chapter. The warm September's Sun greeted two women as they stepped into a small courtyard located right before the complex. Some green areas surrounded them with 3 or 4 benches scattered around.

"Evelynn?" the raven-haired teen asked shyly.

"Yes, darling? What's on your mind?" Eve responded, averting her gaze off her phone to focus on her protégé.

"I wonder... I wonder... what... did you plan something for today? I mean... for us to do?" Akali asked clumsily, stuttering a lot.

"Hmm...," the magenta-haired woman hummed regarding how to respond. "Our schedule is a little tight today, but worry not, I'll figure something out on a fly," she added, flashing a small smile. "By the way, have you had breakfast yet?" a question was uttered a moment later.
