"We have been called down to go to Texas. They believe the person who was killing newly weds 10 years ago has started back up again. That's why Dallas PD has asked for our help.""How do they know it's the same guy?" Morgan asked. We were all thinking the same thing. It could be anyone for all we know.
"Meet Mr. and Mrs. Bryer, a newly wed couple found in the basement of their home. Mr. Bryer was found bound to a metal chair, with a sock stuffed in his mouth. His wife, Jazmine, was found with her arms and legs tied behind her back, throat slashed, and torture evident." I looked at the the crime scene photos that popped up on the overhead screen. "How do we know this is him though? For all we know it could be a copy cat."
"Dallas PD ruled that out. The phrase 'I'm back' had been spelled out in a puddle of blood found next to Mrs. Bryer's body." Hotch informed. Garcia pressed a button, and more pictures popped up. Specifically the killers message left in a puddle of his victims blood.
"That's sick." Spencer mumbled. Normally I don't agree with him, but on this I had no other choice. This killer is sadistic. We needed to find him before anyone else is killed.
•••After we arrived at the airport, everyone piled of the two SUV's that were driven here. Our luggage was put under the wing craft carrier. The flight from Virgina to Dallas is a little over Two and a Half hours. Plenty of time to discuss more on the case file.
"What's the objective here? How're we going to catch this guy? If he couldn't be caught before, what makes us think we can get him this time?" Rossi looked up from the case file, he glanced at Hotch then scanned the rest of the Jet. "Hotch and I have been talking. We think it'll be in the best interest of this case that we have two of you go undercover. Pose as a married couple to try and attract the unsubs attention to you." This time it was JJ who spoke up, "Do we really think that could work?"
"It's our best bet at this point." Everyone knew Hotch was right. "We have to decide which two are going to go undercover to pose as a young married couple."
"I vote Spence and Angie!" Penelope quipped from behind the computer screen that set upon the jet table. My head jerked so fast I could've sworn I got whip-lash. "No. Definitely not." Reid objected. I quickly shook my head in agreement. "How are they supposed to go undercover, as a married couple at that, when they are always at each other's throat?" Morgan questioned. Trust me Derek, I'm wondering the same thing. As I'm sure Reid is too.
"Because he's going after young, attractive, newly weds. Seeing as Angie and Spencer are the youngest members on the team, it would be the wisest option to use them." I guess he did have a point. But did it have to be Spencer Reid? I mean don't get me wrong, Spencer is maddeningly attractive. Almost painfully attractive at that. But he's a dick. He never has anything nice to say to me, and always has to question me, on EVERYTHING. "Come on Hotch, can't it be like Morgan or something? Maybe even an officer in the department?" He shook his head.
"Whatever issues you guys have going on you need to get over yourselves and suck it up. You're going undercover as a newly wed couple. That's final. No if's, ands, or buts about it. You both are mature adults, you can figure it out." Morgan smirked, "Their issue is all the sexual tension between them."
This is going to be great. Two people who can't stand to be around each other going under cover as a married couple. Because that's a brilliant idea. What's next, the hotel fucks up and only gives us a room with one bed. Fate would have to have something against us for that to happen. That would be one sick, cruel, joke.
