READER POV
It was my first time outside of La Push since I had moved. Chaz passed the test of meeting my grandparents, and we made it to the theatre just in time for the 8 PM showing of "Facepunch". Since it was just the movies, I chose to wear a pair of my favorite skinny jeans, and an oversized sweater to keep me warm, with my brown ankle boots.
"What?! So, you mean to tell me that you would choose flying over mind-reading as a superpower?!" I asked. Chaz and I spent the entire ride to Port Angeles debating on which superpower would be best, and we were both on opposite ends of the topic.
"I would never have to pay for another plane ticket again. And, I could fly to your place any time and show off how cool I am, and maybe steal you for a romantic sightseeing adventure around Forks." I blushed at the thought.
Chaz purchased our tickets and some snacks for us to share, and we made our way into the theatre, continuing our ongoing superpower debate.
PAUL POV
"So, you're going to confess your love to Y/N by stalking her? I think this is probably one of the worst ideas you've ever had Paul, and you've had some pretty bad ones." I rolled my eyes at Jared's assumption.
"I'm not confessing my love. I just want to make sure she's ok. You'd do the same thing if YOUR imprint were out on a date with the school brown-noser."
Embry chimed in as we continued walking up to the front of the theatre, keeping high alert in case Y/N and Chaz were still hanging outside– "Paul, the entire pack knows you like Y/N. You're not so great at hiding your thoughts-"
"Would you two just shut it? Now, when we get in here, just follow my lead, got it?" They nodded, and we finished purchasing our tickets and made our way inside the dark theatre.
There weren't a lot of people inside which made the mission a bit riskier since we could easily be spotted if we weren't careful. I could smell the scent of rose and lavender and knew it was Y/N. I wondered if she was thinking of me. Was she having fun? More fun than with me? Toward the middle of the theatre, I spotted Y/N and Chaz sitting and engaging in the pre-movie trivia happening on the big screen. I made my way over to the row of seats off to the side in the very back of the theatre, and Jared and Embry followed.
"Now what?" Jared asked. I had completely ignored question when I heard Y/N's beautiful laugh. I couldn't help but smile at the thought of how happy she was, but I knew I wasn't the one bringing her the current joy, and that killed me.
"Earth to Paul. Man, this imprint has got you good." Jared threw his head back and snickered.
"Let's go." The three of us stood up and shuffled out of the theatre and back into the lobby.
"Alright, I'm starving. Come on Em, let's go get a snack before we go." Jared and Embry headed over to the concession stand, and I took a seat on a nearby bench just outside of the theatre room while I waited for them, and let my head fall into my hands, still thinking of Y/N.
I know I can make her just as happy, or happier than Chaz could. Maybe I just needed to admit it- I was in love with –
"Paul?" My head shot up at the sound of Y'N's voice. "Paul, what are you doing here?" She was smiling, but I could see the confusion on her face. She looked beautiful, although she considered herself average. I didn't want to take my eyes off of her.
"Oh, hey...Y/N. I was uh, just..uh...how's your date?" I mentally kicked myself at the lack of a prepared answer.
"I asked you a question first, Paul. What are you doing here? Did you bring Chelsea?" Y/N knew me so well, and I knew there was no point in lying to her.
