Yuri (O) POV
Second day of school who the hell was this Victor? Why wouldn’t he leave my Yuri alone? I kicked at a rock as I stormed toward school. Why couldn’t anything go my way for once? I screamed inside my head.
The school building came into sight. There was Yuri waiting for that idiot Phichit. Like he was better than me. I stalked toward him. He was wearing a blue shirt that set off his tan skin. His eyes looked like a startled deer, typical. He had brushed his hair differently. It looked good for him.
Wait, he wasn’t wearing his glasses. What did that mean? Did he get contacts? More likely he broke them again. I really did like him without his glasses. He had nice eyes. The black framed ones he had did nothing for his slender face. I slipped up behind him. I got as close as I could, which was right behind him.
“BOO!” I yelled. He squealed so hard he lost his balance on the cement wall. Slipping forward he fell to the ground about two feet below. I laughed. He rolled over looking up at me.
“Look at that, a stupid piggy on his back!” I called out as loud as I could.
“Why do you do this every day, Yuri?” a sultry voice asked. Looking up I saw that idiot Victor. Bending down to offer my Yuri a hand up. Once he was on his feet the turned away. I didn’t like being ignored by him.
“Did the piggy sit on his glasses, again?” I sneered walking behind them.
“No. They broke at the rink last night.” He muttered. This shocked me.
“You're skating again?” We had started ice skating as kids. Then mom vanished. For a long time I was in limbo. Grandpa had to prove he was capable of taking care of me before they would allow me to live with him. It took months. During that time I took all my pain out on the only friend I had. Yuri. I shoved him so far away, I didn’t have any idea how to get him back.
Then two years ago I saw him. It was during the summer. He was swimming. He looked so good. His body toned. It took my breath away. Ever since I couldn’t get his stupid face out of my head. It was my gay awakening I guess. Fucking Yuri of all people.
“Yeah, I never stopped.” He turned to look at me a little surprised. I shoved my hands deeper into my pockets.
“Its just for fun.” He added. “ But, last night Yakov offered me a job training the little kids. I was so happy that I rushed into the locker room to tell Phichit and mom, that I stepped on my glasses.” He finished. This was the longest I had gotten him to talk to me in awhile.
“Oh. You getting new ones?” I asked. Why was I keeping this conversation going.
“Yeah. Mom took me last night.” He said. His face twisted. A small smile touched his lips. It made his face look better. He looked… happy? Ugh why did I care! I yelled at myself.
“Great. Little blind piggy!” I snarled out a laugh as I shifted a few steps closer to him. See I knew he was near sighted. There was no way he saw the trashcan in his way. I watched as he tripped over it. Laughing I looked down at him.
“Little piggy, always laying down.” I kicked at his side. It wouldn’t hurt him too bad there. Yet I never connected with him. I forgot about his stupid new friend. Victor. The jerk had saved Yuri in June. To which I was grateful, I didn’t realize that I wouldn’t have the strength to pull him back up. It was the only time I was glad to see the silver haired demon.
Now he caught my leg, flinging it away from him. Phichit arrived to help Yuri to his feet. I snarled at Victor.
“Stay out of my way old man!” I screamed. It hit a nerve. He jerked back touching his hair. I smirked. Now I knew what his weakness was. Laughing I walked away, knocking into Phichit as I did so.
“What a jerk.” I heard him mumble. Yeah, maybe I was.
“Yuri?” at first I thought the happy sounding voice meant they were calling the other Yuri. Then I felt my shoulder bumped. I jerked away quickly looking up to see who had dared touch me.
The new guy. What was his name again? I stared at him. Right Otabek.
“What do you want?” I glared at him. He flashed me a smile.
“To be your friend.” He said. “It looks like you don’t have many.” He added. I looked at him like he was the stupidest guy in the world. His dark eyes danced as they looked down at me. They were darker than Yuuri's but looked good on him. He smiled.
“What do you say, Yuri? Will you be my friend?” he held out his hand. I glanced at it. Flicked my eyes back up to his.
“Seriously?” I asked. His smile was warm, open. It made his face look younger. Not that he was that old.
“Uh, sure.” I took his hand. He shook it.
“Nice to meet you. You have the most amazing eyes.” He stated. He turned following in step beside me. We walked to our lockers. His was across the hall and down a bit from mine. Mine was right beside Yuuri's. I watched him walk up to me. Slowly.
After he turned the dials and opened his locker I glanced at him. “The new guy, Otabek…” I said. Yuuri glanced back down to where the bad boy was pulling out books. He wore all black, except a pink leather chain hooked on his belt.
“What about him?” I snickered. Could he even see him?
“He just asked me to be his friend.” I said.
Yuuri closed his locker. He looked down at me. “What did you say?” he asked.
“Yes?!” I mumbled.
“Good. I’m glad you're making friends now. I don’t know what I did wrong, but you've been lonely for too long.” He pushed off of his locker.
“See you at lunch, Yuri.” He said quietly before walking away. I closed my locker moving toward my first class. It wasn’t until third period that I would see Yuuri again. Victor and Phichit were also in this class as well as that suck up Minami.
To my surprise when I walked in Otabek was here to. He saw me, waved and pointed at an empty seat beside him. It was only two seats behind Victor. Who was sitting right beside Yuri. Phichit was on his other side with Minami staring dreamily at the back of Yuuri'd head.
Was Yuuri the new hot chick? I wondered as I took the seat beside Otabek.
“I don’t see his attraction. I mean he isn’t bad looking, just not my type.” Otabek smirked over at me. Oh I must have said that under my breath. Since I was moving past him at the time he heard me.
“Wait, you're into guys?” I asked. Yeah, Yuri like that was the main point of his response.
“Yeah. Is that a problem?” he asked frowning at me.
“No. I uh, well…” I glanced at Yuuri. “No. I understand.” I finally said. Otabek grinned at me. I cheed looking away. I had never admitted to anyone that I liked guys.
Two more classes and then I was walking toward lunch. Normally I spent lunch time alone. I would sit in the corner where no one would see me. Yet before I even got in line, Otabek was at my side. “Hey, you want to do something after school?” he asked.
Yuuri, Victor, Christophe and Minami got behind us. A second later Phichit showed up. Christophe dropped his arms over Victor leaning heavily on him.
“I am starving. I’m going to die, Vitya!” he whined.
“There, there cousin mine, I won’t let that happen.” Victor said patting his arm.
“Cousin?” Yuuri asked looking at Victor.
“Ya. Christophe’s father and my mother were siblings. When my parents passed in a car accident in May, his dad took me in. That's why I’m here now.” He had started talking with his usual smile on. But as he went the smile faded. Christophe hugged him tightly as Yuuri touched his hand.
I felt a stab of pain in my chest. Why could he touch the old man but not me? What was so wrong with me? It was only as I stared angrily down at my feet that I realized I hadn’t answered Otabek.
“Yeah, sure we can hang out after school.” I said. “Where do you want to go?”
“Any place. I’m new here.” He chuckled.
“Alright I know of a few places.” I said. We got our lunch. At first, I had automatically started to walk toward my usual small table in the corner. Otabek tugged my sleeve.
“We're sitting over here.” He reminded me. I nodded. Looked longingly at my once private hell. With a tiny sigh, I turned toward the other table. I sat between Otabek and Minami. The little blonde was wide eyed staring at the brunette across from us. I glowed at him.
Elbowing him I snarled. “Keep your eyes in your head will you, firecracker!” I snarled. He looked up at me. Watery eyes as if he was about to cry. I glared, daring him to do it. He sniffled. Turning away he looked down at his tray. I smirked.
“Hey, ease up on him. He has a crush, so what?” Otabek shrugged. I fish mouthed at him.
“SO WHAT? HE IS STARING AT THE LITTLE PIGGY LIKE A LOVE SICK CLOWN!” I cried. Otabek looked casually up at me. I hadn’t realized I had stood up.
“Something tells me you are protesting too much. What is Yuuri only for you?” He asked. I felt my face flame red. I sat down. What had just happened? Why did I feel like crap just because he had said that? I nibbled at my sub. Why did it bother me that someone was staring love struck at my Yuuri? I asked myself.
“Hey, Yuuri will you be skating today?” Victor asked out of the blue.
“Well, I have to go to the rink to fill out paperwork and stuff. So, I will be there. Why?” he asked.
“Oh, Christophe and I used to skate. I was thinking we could all go skating.” He grinned out looking over all of us.
“I haven’t skated since…” Otabek looked at his watch. “6 am this morning. Its great work out and makes your ass look amazing.” He laughed. Then Victor challenged him to stand up and show his ass. He did so where the entire table then started to rate everyone’s ass. Yuuri got first, Otabek second, Victor third. Then they wanted me to do it. When I said no Christophe tried to force me.
He pulled me up attempting to spin me around. I screamed trying to punch or kick him when someone pulled me from behind. Otabek punched Christophe in the face.
“Leave him the hell one, you fucking perv!” he yelled. Christophe dropped to his knees cradling his face in his hand while crying for Victor. Victor took him to the nurse and we all agreed not to tell any teacher what happened.
