after spending all night awake feeling nauseous, you noticed the golden light filtering through your room. moving slowly you grabbed a book and a sketch pad and wrapped yourself up in your duvet to sit on the ledge of your window. watching the sun rise, you knew lessons were starting soon but felt no motivation to go to your classes.
after a short while you noticed your classmates rushing through the garden to lessons or sitting around waiting for theirs to start, you opened your book and started to read. trying to distract yourself from the awful ache in your stomach. you knew that you needed to get food and a drink but couldn't pull yourself to move from the warmth of the window or your duvet.
trying to get through your book you couldn't focus from the pain that was slowly growing in your stomach, you knew no one would be around so you didn't bother to change out of your pyjamas. keeping your duvet wrapped around you, you slowly walked into the hallways making your way toward the kitchen.
as you opened the door you expected to see the house elves rushing around the kitchen trying to prepare lunch however, you shocked yourself to see one of your professors resting against the kitchen counter.
"did you forget you had lessons this morning, miss y/l/n"
you stopped in your tracks, hugging your duvet tighter and jumping at the heavy door slamming behind you. shaking your head slightly, you looked down as your eyes started to water. lupin's face quickly becoming covered in worry
"hey, come here, what's wrong?"
shaking your head, lupin quickly walks over and wraps his arms around you holding you close causing you to sob into his chest.
"you look comfy, y/n, what could be disrupting that?"
you mumble slightly, feeling too ill to respond until lupin softly picks you up to sit you on the kitchen island. still looking down, lupin kneels in front of you. looking up at your face you smile slightly, not being able to help yourself. he stands back up, trailing his finger underneath your chin to lift your head up. placing the palm of his hand on the side of your face, he wipes away your tears whilst smiling at you softly.
"i know exactly what will help"
he quickly walks to the other side of the kitchen, frantically opening cupboards and finding you a cup. he quickly makes you something whilst you watch, confused as to what he's doing.
once finished he turns around, handing you a warm cup with whipped cream and a candy cane poking out.
taking a finger you pick up some of the whipped cream to lick it off, looking to remus as he watches you intently.
drinking the hot chocolate, he stays watching you, smiling softly. and after a short while you feel your stomach start to settle.
"thank you, sir"
he chuckles, watching as you place your cup beside you and open your duvet and arms to welcome him in a hug.
lupin quickly moves over, standing between your legs and wrapping his arms underneath your duvet. holding you tight and swaying softly.
"you're very welcome, dear. and i can see how tired you are, may i take you somewhere"
confused, he steps back. you feel the space grow cold and quickly wrap the duvet back around you.
he opens the kitchen door and nods for you to follow him, in a sleepy state you feel your legs walking but don't recognise where you're going.
after a short while of following remus, he leads you to a door. opening it for you, you notice the slightly messy bed and the books and students papers around the floor and on a desk. confused, you quickly realise that he had taken you to his room.
"you're welcome to sleep in here, i have classes for a few more hours and i know someone will come looking for you in your room. i wouldn't want anyone to disturb you"
he reaches for your hand and pulls you toward his bed, letting you lay down as he takes his duvet and pulls it over you. allowing the fact that his duvet smells of coffee and sweets to comfort you.
"thank you so much, remus"
he smiles at you and presses a kiss to your forehead, petting your head for a moment before leaving to his classes. quickly allowing yourself to fall asleep.
