Aoyama POV
The sky is filled with some white clouds. Sunshine hits the top of the trees along the sidewalk, casting a scattered shadow. My phone is playing some random music station, but I don't feel like changing it.
My school days have just been the same. Waking up. Eating. Classes. Being alone. Struggling with work. Getting made fun of.
No, I told myself, I shouldn't be thinking about stuff like that. I turn the music up a bit louder to try and drown out my thoughts. I listen closely to the lyrics:
I didn't want to fall but then I stepped right in
I looked down at the ground
And then I felt it right within
It was too late for me~~~~
After some more walking while listening to love songs, I enter U.A.. I was one of the first ones to arrive, so I wasn't rushing to get to class. Looking out the window on the stairwell, I noticed that more clouds moved in, a bit more gray than the ones I saw about 20 minutes ago. In class, no one else was there. I must be early.
I gave up on trying to figure out why I left so early by telling myself that I just got ready quicker than usual. Seeing the classroom empty makes me feel weird. It just doesn't feel right to me. I begin to start worrying. What if something happened to them? What if villains got them? Sweat begins to build on my forehead.
Suddenly, someone pokes the back of my shoulder, causing me to jump a bit and stop thinking about the worst. "Are you alright, Aoyama?," said the voice from behind. I turn around to be met by a tall, blue haired boy.
Iida POV
Aoyama looked up at me with his normal smile, but he seemed a little tense. "Oui!," he responded chipperly, "I'm doing fine!"
He and I both just stand there for a bit.
"Oh! I should probably move out of your way. Sorry," he said as he backed up towards his desk, but ran into it.
"It's quite alright," I reply. Though, something still seems off about him, but I decided not to ask, as it might be personal and we aren't that close.
I stand at the door as we just stare at each other, occasionally looking around the room. It was really awkward. As I walked to go back to my seat to get out of this weird situation, I heard him let out a quiet, but heavy sigh. For some reason, it really bothered me. I walked over to Ojiro's desk and sat down there, facing Aoyama. He looked confused. To be honest, I was too.
Giving some thought into what I should say, I finally asked him,"While you were just standing in the doorway, you seemed pretty anxious. Are you doing alright? I know that might be weird to ask, as we are not that close, but as class president, it is my duty to-" I caught myself from rambling when I saw Aoyama's face change. His smile faded into a frown with slightly parted lips.
"I'm sorry if I'm wrong, I just- I wanted to make sure you weren't distressed or anything like that."
He continues to just look at me. I look at the ground in slight discomfort. Then, I hear him softly chuckle and I look back up. Aoyama now has a smile back on his face, but it's not his "V" smile. It's a really soft one, with soft eyes as well.
"Do you actually care about me? Or are you just saying that so you don't feel guilty?"
Before I can answer him, Ojiro walks in, so I walk back to my desk. Everyone else enters and class begins.
~~~timeskip to lunch~~~
"Yo Iida!" Uraraka calls out when she sees me walk into the cafeteria.
