"Alexa." He says. "So that's your name."
The way he says my name....
"I would've liked to say it myself, but I guess it's too late for that."
"DID YOU GET WHAT YOU CAME FOR!?" Says my other friend, Lena. I can imagine her wiggling her eyebrows.
"Guys, how do you know if she's in there or not?"
And last but not least, my friend Mack. I'm glad she wasn't shouting unlike my other fine friends.
"This is the only room we haven't checked yet," Ronnie says.
"What if she left with some guy?" Mack says.
"Nah, she would never leave without us. That's not Alexa," says Lena.
True.
"JUST AN FYI, THAT'S ALSO NOT ME. I DON'T BRING RANDOM GIRLS HOME," he shouts.
I look at him. "What are you doing?"
I hear them go quiet.
"Alexa, are you in there? And who was that?" Ronnie asks.
I shake my head. "I guess I should let them in."
He nods and tucks his hands in his pockets.
"Guys, come on in."
"Actually, it's locked, so you might want to open it for them."
My brows furrow. "You locked it?"
He itches the back of his neck. "Yeah. I didn't want anyone to walk in on us. I knew deep down nothing too intense was gonna happen, but privacy is still important."
I nod in agreement. Wow. This guy is something else.
I go to open the door and when I do, my friends immediately rush through the doorframe and pause when they see us both.
"Oh," Ronnie says. "Hey."
I smile. "Hey, guys. I was just about to go and find you."
All eyes land on him and scan him from head to toe.
"Who's your friend?" Lena says mischievously.
I sigh. "I was about to find out until you guys pummeled on the door."
I turn to him. "I guess I should properly introduce myself. I'm Alexa." I put out my hand.
He stares at it for a second before accepting it and let me tell you. Sparks. I felt sparks.
"I'm Tate. It's a pleasure to finally know the name behind the lips." He shakes my hand but is smirking at his statement.
"Oop," Lena says.
"Can we get an elaboration on that?" Ronnie asks.
Mack cuts in. "Guys, seriously? We came for Alexa. Now that we found her, let's go."
"Nah, nah. I think he should go more into detail because I know Alexa, and her and kissing don't really go in the same category. Remember–"
"That's my cue!" I interrupt and start pushing them out the door. "Let's go ladies."
"Don't you wanna say goodbye to your lover?" Ronnie asks as if she's serious.
"Ronnie, I will literally kill you."
"It's not like I've never heard that before. You love me."
"Not at this particular moment."
"Okay," Mack says. "Alexa, you say your goodbyes, we'll wait by the front door for you. Unless you want us to stay. He's technically still a stranger."
