June Westfield's eyes fluttered open to see a bright fluorescent light burning into her from above, she grimaced before crushing her eyes shut once more.
"Hey, June honey?" a nearby voice calls out.
'June?' she questions to herself as she brings a stiff arm to her head in an attempt of covering her sensitive eyes. Rolling onto her side June rubbed open her eyes to what appeared to be a families home. 'Who's house is this, and who is this person kneeling next to me?'
"AH JUNEY" a lady screams and scoop my groggy form into a hug. Her voice matching the lady's who was calling out before "I'm so glad your ok, you had me really worried there hon. You've been out for around 20 minutes" the woman explained.
She seemed to be in her mid 40s and certainly looked the age of a mother, perhaps this is her families home? But how does she know me, I certainly don't recognize her. At least I don't think I do, and just who is this June person, she seems to think that's me but I'm not, who am I?
"...sorry?" is all I could manage to speak. The woman just sat there, eagerly waiting for me to say something, anything else really. Of course I had an abundance of questions but all I could manage for now was 'sorry'. Other than the gut wrenching delirium going on in my head, there was also a rather annoying pain above the back of my neck that was muddling out most of my thoughts.
The mother cupped my head in her hands and examined my face, as if there were something weird or unusual about it. Maybe she was looking for other injuries to my head, or better yet maybe she was realizing that she let a total stranger in her home.
"honey, are you sure your ok?"
Honey? This lady really is insane, perhaps she was the one to hit their head.
"Besides my head, everything else seems to be fine" I answered truthfully-ish. The fact that I was in a random strangers home and completely clueless as to why, wasn't exactly fine. Though my head did hurt, being here doesn't seem all that bad right now.
The motherly figure then flung foreword and reeled June into an almost strangling hug."Great. Great! Now off to school you go, hurry quickly" the lady said while hauling June up and shooing her out the door in a rush.
'Shit I should say something. Maybe a thanks for taking care of me, or rather who are you? But that sounds a little mean, I bet she told me her name too I'm just forgetting' June thought nervously. When she turned around to at least thank the lady, she was instead swiftly shoved out the house and met with a door to the face. 'Well then' June muttered.
Without another second for her thoughts another voice called in her direction.
