Isabella was dead. The news spread throughout the kingdom. On the 18th of March, 1525 at the age of thirty three giving birth to twins Charles and Caterina.
When she died Joanna became Queen of Castile and Mary who had returned from Rome as no longer betrothed became Queen of Aragon. Isabella's sons Edward, Richard, Henry and now little Charles were sent away for safety with Maggie Pole.
Lizzie, Kathy, Maggie and Cate were taken by their governess to a castle out in the countryside.
Isabella's death had caused rebellions in Spain with the news. The Tudor family was cursed and who next was to lose their life for loving Henry VIII.
But to Catherine of Aragon this was splendid news. None married her and she would return to England to mourn her sister and bring her nieces Joanna and Mary back to Spain with her. But not if she could help it.
Marriage was a powerful alliance. Especially to a King!

"I know you loved her." Catherine said to Henry
"What are you doing here?" He turned to her and asked
"I have come to collect Mary and Joanna." Catherine smiled kindly
"For Spain?" Henry interrogated
"For Isabella." Catherine stood next to him.
"I'm afraid I wasn't a good husband. I had affairs and bastards. It wasn't right of me to do so." Henry spoke
"Neither was it for me to be so ambitious and to use my sister to gain political power in Spain. We both did wrong things by Isabella. But she knew deep down we loved her and we would never mean her harm." Catherine placed her hand on his
"How am I going to get through this?" Henry asked looking to Catherine with tears in his eyes.
"Surround yourself by those you love." Catherine started to walk away
"Maybe you could stay a little longer?" Henry called to her
"I wouldn't miss it for the world." Catherine curtsied

Two months after Isabella's death Catherine indeed married Henry. A year later she had a daughter named Rosalina and three years later another named Cecily.
