Preface

Untold

I looked into his eyes letting myself fall into their sapphire depths.

"Don't let me go." I felt the air tickle my back, as I hung dangerously close to the ledge.

"I have too." His voice was the exact definition of bittersweet.

I felt his 5'oclock shadow scrape across the skin of my neck. "Why?" My voice caught in my throat.

"You'll see when the darkness consumes the sky, one light will rise." He let his nose trace my jaw line making me involuntarily shiver.

"I still don't know what you are talking about." My voice was airy, as I breathed hard threw my nose trying to savor his sweet smell.

"Good."  Just as I felt the tip of his lips, he let go and I felt my body fall over the edge. I screamed helplessly as the air whipped pass me. I close my eyes tight and prepared for the impact.

I opened my eyes bewildered. The dream replayed in my mind an endless amount of times before I looked at the clock on my bedside table. Shit, it was 6:30. I crawled out of my bed my bare feet meeting the cold hardwood floor causing me to shiver. It reminded me of the dream again. I shook my head and rubbed my eyes.

I needed to get in the shower. I walked to my closet and grabbed a quick outfit. I patted into my bathroom trying to be as quiet as possible, not wanting to wake dad. I got in and locked the door behind me.

I got in the shower and let the water cascade over my skin hoping to soak up some of its warmth. When I was done I walked over to the mirror. I looked horrible, dark circles hung low under my eyes. I threw on my clothes quickly looking at the clock, 7:00. Quickly, I blow dried my hair and curled it in big bouncy ringlets. I moved onto makeup and truly I didn't wear much.

I didn't need to really. I put on a thick line of liner on my bottom lid, then the top. Some mascara, toped of with a light layer of sparkly eye shadow. It wasn't dramatically sparkling, very subtle. I dabbed on cover-up on the circles. I fixed my hair then ran into my room grabbing my purse and school bag in one swing.

I trampled down the stair slipping into my boots on the bottom step. Dad walked in from the kitchen and smiled but, didn't say anything. Not that he could, he was mute. Both my parents were before, my mother died. He kissed my head and signed me that he was going to stay home today instead of going to the meeting.

I signed a thank you back. He could hear but, preferred to be signed to. I'll never know why. I kissed his cheek on the way out and grabbed my keys of the table by the door. I hoped in my Porsche courtesy of my dad and his job. He ran some company that made children toys.

I sped out of the driveway before slowing considerably down. Snow covered the streets like a blanket. I let my mind wonder as I drove down the familiar streets. The thing the guys said replayed in my head.

"You'll see when the darkness consumes the sky, one light will rise."

What could that mean? Why was I even having that dream? Other people don't dream about stuff like this, do they? I was brought out of my thoughts as a lady honk furiously at me. I realized I was right next to the school but, I hadn't made the turn into the parking lot.

I waved my hand in apology and took the sharp turn into the parking lot. It was mostly full but, nobody dared take my spot. I was the most 'popular' girl in school. Not that I cared, it was all a pointless game to me.

I didn't even try; people were drawn to me for some odd reason. I felt people flutter to my side but, didn't pay attention to them I just gave vague answers and nods of my head. They didn't notice I was withdrawn most of them just kept talking a mile a minute. Soon the first bell rang and we all ran to class and I got to mine right before the bell rang.

The morning announcements started dully with normal school news on upcoming games and fundraisers. Then at the end there was a screech. The monotone announcements now drew all the attention of tired students.

"Help!" There was some banging and then and eerie silence. We all froze for a split second confused. Then teens jumped out of their seat making a book for the door. Screams could be heard in the hallway causing them to slam the door shut.

Girls were crying and boys looking as if they were going to pee themselves. I myself was completely frozen. Soothing words were thrown at me as we all huddled in a corner trying to stay as quiet as possible.

Suddenly the door banged open and a man in a mask looked through our terrified faces. I looked down but, I could feel his gaze land on me.

"I found her!" He yelled out the door, Suddenly another man came in.

He walked up to our group and grabbed my. Guy's hands tried to hold me there and girls sobs grew harder. I screamed and kicked him where it hurt.

He doubled over hissing. I ran toward the door but, the others guy's arms wrapped around my waist.

He whispered in my ear. "If you want to live come, we aren't the bad guys. Pretend I hurt you."

I didn't know whether to believe him or not but, my instincts took care of that. I struggled a bit more but, slumped into arms. I couldn't believe what I was doing, I had to believe it though as he pulled me up into his arms. I let my head loll to the side resting on his chest.

I heard screams and felt his steady footsteps under me. Once he walked outside the footsteps started to become soothing, with their rhythmic beat. I was set on a soft surface and then a door slammed hard. I opened my eyes slightly looking around. I was on a pile of blankets, in a van. There were three guys in there and a girl that lay next to me.

"What are you guys, kidnappers?" My voice held much more venom then it had ever before.

"Hey. Don't forget you came willingly sweetheart!" The guy that had carried me ripped of his mask and it showed his deep green eyes and dark chocolate hair.

"It doesn't look as if she did." I hissed gesturing toward the girl, which lay unconscious next to me. The guy next to him glared at me. I remembered his figure perfectly. I had kicked him where the sun don't shine.

"It's not my fault your life was going to be short lived!" He growled back. I glared back.

"Why don't you so generously inform me what don't is going to end my life?" He almost looked thoughtful for a second but, it quickly disappeared.

"Easy you two, before I shut the both of you up." It was the green eyed boy this time. I tried to glare at him but, failed miserably.

"Ok, now let me explain."

Ok guys this is a preface kind of, to see if you like it! = )
