'So you didn't know what it was?' Samantha asked, sipping her usual chocolate drink. 'No.' I said, brain freeze burning through my head. 'Why did you hang up?' I asked, rubbing my head trying, in vain, to get rid of the brain freeze. Samantha didn't answer. Instead, she looked at something hovering over my shoulder. I turned. It was Jeremy. He wasn't as bad as the day before, but there was something different about him. 'Shi-!' I said, clamping a hand over my mouth. Jeremy fixed me with a hard stare, his purple eyes numbing my senses. His eyes were pulsating a bright magenta, but there was something else there. Although he was staring at me with an expression of what looked like anger, every time he blinked, his stare softened. But, like the sun behind a cloud, it disappeared. Jeremy blinked once more and walked out of the cafe. 'The hell was that?!' Hissed Samantha in an unusually high voice. I could feel that the colour had drained out my face. 'I dunno...' I whispered hoarsely, worried that Jeremy could somehow still be listening. There was a pause. 'That settles it.' Samantha said, pulling out her phone. After a few moments of swiping and tapping, she held up her phone for me to see. 'See?' I took the phone, ignoring my shaking hands. 'A rumour's going around.' Samantha stated like she was an expert on the subject. 'That there's something in that new game Fazbear Entertainment's made. You would have joined too late to look at it, but apparently, there was a glitch. Y'know an anomaly in the code.' She lowered her voice. 'Apparently, it sends the beta testers insane. Did you see the look on his face?' I nodded. 'Yeah...' If there was anything I hated, it was people who talked like that: criticising your life. 'You joined too late?' I heard myself mock her, and she glanced up. 'What was that?' She asked. 'Nothing.' I muttered. I placed the phone down on the table. 'Did you look?' She asked, reaching for the phone. 'Yeah.' I lied, pretending to be interested in what was going on out the window. 'Cool.' She said, rifling for money. 'Do you mind paying? I forgot my purse.' I put on a fake smile. 'No. Not at all.' She probably would have noticed, but she was too busy, sliding her chair under the table. 'I'll see you tomorrow then?' I nodded. 'Yeah, okay.'

For some reason, when I got home, I went to the window, to see if the purple-eyed figure had reappeared. I was left disappointed. I had hoped I could look closer, and maybe know who it was. I sat down on my bed and flicked through some news stories. Even though I had dismissed Samantha's story earlier, I still wanted to do some digging. I pulled my chair closer towards my laptop and sat down. I brought up some tabloid pages, but even as I clicked through them, the feeling that Fazbear Entertainment would have hushed everything up settled onto me like a cold, damp blanket.

After bearly being able to keep my eyes open for several minutes, I switched the laptop off. My eyes were stinging, my back was hurting, and I was aware that I had spent several hours sitting in the dark staring at a computer. But that didn't bother me. I may not have found out much, but I had found out some worthy information. For one thing, they had released a beta version of the new VR game on mobile, but it had been glitched, and corrupted, so it had been simply pulled down, and they had made it for Virtual Reality instead. For another, Fazbear Entertainment had some pretty advanced tech. For one thing, they had animatronics made out of ice, and some high suspicions about some made out of chocolate. Already having a headache, I didn't think how that could be possible, as I climbed into bed, too tired to undress.

I felt pretty stupid in the cafe without Samantha. She had told me she was going to be there, but she was already 10 minutes late. 'She's never late.' I muttered to myself, thinking about what could have held her up. I had so much to tell her about what I had found out about last night. She walked in, snow on her shoulders and in her hair. Shivering slightly, she sat down, and with blue fingers, pulled her large black coat tighter around her. 'Alright?' I asked. She nodded and exhaled, chattering slightly. 'I did some research and found tonnes of weird stuff.' I began to repeat everything I had heard, and the more I said, the wider her eyes became.

When I had finished, she leaned forwards. 'Are you sure?' She whispered. I nodded. 'I mean they were tabloids, but...' I trailed off, glancing up at Samantha, who was looking around wildly. 'What is it?' I asked. She leaned back in. 'Well, I was going to say to ask Jeremy, but I can't see him.' I chuckled. 'Sam, people have other things to do, you know. He's probably got some family stuff to deal with. Or something with work - or a club.' I span around to look at Table 6, where Jeremy was usually. 'It doesn't mean anything, Sam. I'm sure I'll see him at work after the weekend, he'll be fine. Just fine. You'll see.' Those last sentences were more to myself than Samantha.
