After, I followed them all back to the Gryffindor Tower. As we walked up the stairway, I looked out of the window. I gasped. It was beautiful. The sea shook delicately, and the wind howled softly through the thin glass pane. We continued walking, until we got to the common room. It was breath-taking.
A red armchair and two red couches sat in front of the fireplace. It blazed warmly, and pranced about. The orange, yellow and amber flames blew about, illuminating the room. Magnificent and historic paintings hung about, perfectly straight. The walls painted crimson, and a faint beige carpet covered the wooden floorboards below. Hermione explained the dormitory scheme. "The girls dormitory is the right side, and the boys are on the left. You go up a staircase and there is a kind-of bridge, I guess you could say, between the girls' dormitory door and the boys'. If you somehow get caught sneaking into the opposite genders dorm, you get flung back down into the common room. I would avoid it, but something about you is telling me you're like George and Fred; pranksters. Let's go to your dorm, we'll find out who you're with!" she said excitedly.
I looked at the side of each door, and I saw my trunk. Hermione grinned widely. "This is my dorm too. I thought age mattered. I guess not," she said happily. I grabbed my owl and my trunk, as I stepped in. "3 other girls share with us. Lavender Brown, Parvati Patil, and Aurora Green. They're sweet," she said kindly. I laughed slightly, and began sorting out the stuff from my trunk. I grabbed my owl, and took him down to the Owlery. I waved goodbye, and realised it was going to be difficult to find my way back. As I looked around, I heard a pair of footsteps from behind me. I turned around the hallway, and saw Draco. I sighed, and stared as he walked closer.
"What are you looking for?" he questioned sharply.
"The Gryffindor Tower," I complained.
He looked like he was going to reply and tell me where, but then he said, "Ah, so you're the new Weasley. Thought you looked a bit out of place with the first years. Blood traitor. You're a disgrace to this wonderful world. Surprised you're a pureblood," he snapped. I felt tears drop from my eyes, but I wiped them.
"Fuck you," I said short-temperedly.
"My father wi-" he began, this threat again? I can't say how many times I've heard people around my house complaining about his father and Malfoy's threats.
"What your father will hear about this? And, will he be proud, knowing you fucking bully purebloods. In my family, we have a different idea of what actually disgraces the Wizarding World, Malfoy," I snarled.
He scrunched his face up in anger, and I watched as he stormed off.
The cold air swiped like a card across my skin, and I shivered slightly. I decided to go down the same stairs I went up, and then I looked down a few of the corridors. Eventually, I found which one I had came from, and then I found my way back up to the tower. I walked through the corridor, and found my dorm again. To my relief, there was a Gryffindor robe for after this weekend. Hermione and Lavender were still awake, but by the looks of it, Parvati and Aurora were asleep.
They motioned for me to be quiet, and I checked the time. I was surprised to see it was 10pm already. I put on my sweatpants and an oversized t-shirt, brushed my hair and brushed my teeth. Then, I slipped into bed.
The next morning, the sun played hide and seek with the clouds. It looked like the clouds were the seekers. We went down to breakfast, and the head of each house was handing out the schedules. Professor McGonagall handed out each to the Gryffindors, Professor Snape giving out the pieces of card to Slytherins. Flitwick to Ravenclaws and Professor Sprout handed them out to Hufflepuffs. I looked at mine. It was the same every single day until end of term, so I read it slowly. First, Potions with Professor Snape. Second, Herbology with Sprout, then Charms with Professor Flitwick. After that, it was DADA and Transfiguration. My free period was planted between Charms and DADA, which was when I could go grab my lunch. I looked over at my friend's. I noticed literally NONE of them had any classes at the same time, except Ron and Harry both had the same time for free period. I sighed, and turned to Fred and George. They turned back to me, and we all smirked at each other.
I pulled them out of the Great Hall, leaving the others confused. "Tomorrow, we have got to pull loads of pranks for the first day back," George and Fred laughed. I agreed, and we strutted back inside. They all stared in confusion, and I laughed. I shook my head, basically indicating they should just ignore me. I grabbed a piece of toast and spread some butter onto it, resting it on a plate. My eyes wondered, and eventually they were met by stony-grey ones. I looked away quickly, not wanting to stare into his eyes.
The day progressed, and nothing else really happened. I slipped into bed, excited for tomorrow (Sunday). Even though I had only just got to this school, and even though I was knew, I was excited for the night that awaited me tomorrow. The student's and professors' reactions would be priceless and Monday morning.
