The wind touched my hair as we drove through the I-5 highway. The moon shined so bright that night. I felt so at peace. And most importantly happy. I stared at Mason examining his smile as he drove. The muscles on his arm contracted as he made slight movements with the wheel. High School was coming to an end and even though I never loved the school anyway. It gave me him. My light and my prince. He brought me out of the darkness and saved me from myself.

I was proud that I had finally defended myself at the dance today. I had come to the conclusion that I never deserved the way that they treated me. I didn't deserve sadness. I didn't deserve anxiety. And most of all I didn't deserve to be broken. It is crazy to think that I am at this part of my life, where I am so happy and at peace. In just a matter of months he changed me.

"What are you thinking about angel?" Mason asked as he quickly glanced at me then at the road.

"Nothing much. Just how much I love you." I smiled widely as I grabbed his hand that was resting on the center console.

"I love you too baby. You were amazing tonight." He said proudly while parking the car in front of his house.

I turned to him in confusion and asked, "What are we doing here?"

"I want to cuddle and I don't want the night to end" He said with his adorable puppy eyes. As we both bursted out in laughter.

He walked out of the car and around as he always does and opened my door. Gently I placed my hand in his, as he helped me out of the car. We walked hand in hand towards the familiar glass marbled detailed door.

Mason opened the door to Mrs. Sanders in her reading glasses, looking at a vogue magazine in the foyer. She immediately sensed our presence and jumped up to give Mason a hug and then myself.

"Mason! Ava!" She yelled excitedly. While fixing Mason's tux.

"Mom please." Mason mumbled embarrassedly as I chuckled at their cute interaction.

"How was the dance? Did you guys have fun?" She smiled warmly at us and asked.

I couldn't help but to smile back, "Definitely the best night ever."

"Wow the best night ever?" Mason turned to me in shock.

"Yes" I laughed lightly.

Mr. Sanders walked in with tired eyes as he gave us a small wave and a smile.

"Sweetheart leave these poor kids alone." He said playfully. And grabbed Mrs. sanders shoulders lovingly and walked her away.

"Goodnight you two." Mrs. Sanders cooed at us whilst walking away.

I suddenly felt arms wrapped around my waist as I cuddled up to Mason knowing his familiar musky and aromatic cologne. He leaned forward from behind me and cupped my chin whilst tilting my head back. His lips hovered over mine as I instantly felt my eyes close. His mouth ran a trail of gentle and warm kisses from the end of my brow to the corner of my mouth.

A small unintentional moan came from my mouth as I felt butterflies and sparks all over my body.

"Wanna watch a movie?" He asked, suddenly stopping. While walking up the stairs with a knowing smirk.
