Trigger warning: This part talks about self harming, depression. Nothing explicit though

"Ava kaiya vetikita thambi. Swetha than patha modhala. Doctor's pathutu irukanga ulla.Mayakathil, unga pera sonna. Adhan udaney avar kita kuda solama call panean ungaluku." Kalaivani narrated the incidents in between her sobs.

Jeeva could not hear anymore. He zoned out of all the rants from Jana. He could only think of Meena now. He stumbled to a nearby chair. He hid his face in between his palms and let the tears come out free.

After a while, he was still holding his face when he heard a familiar voice. He lifted his head to look at Kathir who came rushing towards him.

"Enna da achu? Doctor edavadhu sonangala?", Jeeva asked breathlessly, fear evident from his face.

"Patharadhane. Avagaluku onnum agadhu. Narambu vettiduchu pola. Operation panna kutitu poi irukanga. Nee bayapadama iruney", Kathir assured Jeeva seeing him visibly shaken. Kathir saw Jeeva slide on the bench, with fear and desperation clear from his posture.

Closing his eyes, he hid his face once again between his palms and prayed to god for the safety of Meena. She did not deserve any of this suffering. In just a moment, everything changed. One moment in anger, he let go of her and married Mullai. Now he has spoilt both the girls' life. After all, he failed to realize that his love was more important than his ego or anger over her father. He was the one responsible for her but he let her away. He was at fault that she was in so much pain.

Kathir and Jeeva waited along with Kalai, Jana not uttering any word. Time kept ticking with no sign of the doctor. He just sat there increasing the speed of the prayers. He was not a very religious person but right at this moment, nothing else came to his mind. After an hour spent in absolute hell, the doctor finally came out to inform that surgery was a success.

Jeeva started shedding tears that was sad and happy at the same time. Finally, he let out the breath that he was holding so long, to know Meena was out of danger now.

"Nerves cut anadhala, brain'ku signal pogala. Damaged nerve cut panitu, reattach panitom. Inum konja nerathula mayakam thelinjudum. Apo poi nenga pakalam. Oru 3-4 days observationla vechutu vetuku kutitu polam.

Aparam sir, unga perukaga police case kudukama vidarean. Ponna konjam badhirama pathukonga", doctor almost warned Jana before he left.

They continued waiting in pin drop silence. Surprisingly Jana did not yell at Jeeva nor did he ask them to leave. He seemed emotional drained seeing his daughter touch death and come back.

"Dei nee venna kadaiku po da. Ethana neram ingayey irupa", Jeeva said to Kathir

"Illane.Annanuku phone potu solitean. Avugha kannu mulichadum, naan kelambarean"

Jeeva knew, he just stayed as his moral support. Kathir has always been the one who understood him, even without him having to say anything.

After hours of waiting, finally the nurse came out to guide them to the intensive unit.

"Avanga inum padhi mayakathil than irukanga. Thondaravu panama pathutu vanga"

When Jeeva started walking along Jana and Kalai, Jana could not hold it any longer.

"En ponna vitu thoorama poidu. Inametu avala kasta paduthadha", he screamed which made Jeeva flinch back. His eyes were bloodshot and his jaw clenched tight.

Kalai tried to stop him but he silenced her with a glare. Rage was evident by his dilated pupils. Kalai eyes were switching between them in a helpless manner. Jeeva did not want to create any more scene and was about to leave when Kalai stopped him.
