Marinette P.O.V
I-I can rest now...
void...
that's all I could ever grasp to explain it as. This void, is it a feeling or a place? Emptiness, is this the right emotion? Everything is so dark...what is happening to me? "We need to get her to the hospital." Is that papa's voice? The same splitting ringing sound finds its way to my ears again. A slurred voice asks a question that I am not able to make out. Suddenly a feeling of lightness takes over my body without me moving. Is someone carrying me? A feeling of pain slams into my system as the splitting ringing takes over and causes a headache. There's no need to fight back... just rest for a while...
And that's when I found out what nothing truly felt like

Adrien P.O.V
I watch as they take her away from me. The feeling of her touch leaving my skin without hesitation. I stand there and watch as they roll her away from me on a hospital bed. I watch... I stand... because that is the only thing I can do.
A nurse passes by me and I try my best to grab her attention. "Pardon me Miss, but may I ask why I am not aloud to stay with her?" My voice sounds choked up and broken but the nurse barely notices. "What's your relation ship with her?" The nurse asks almost robotically. "Um- I-" I pause for a moment to think but my mouth opens "f-friend,". "Sorry only family is aloud inside until we figure out the problem." My fists ball up and I feel my body shake slightly to her response. The nurse seems to notice and lets out a small sigh. "Sorry kid, but you can wait in the lobby until your friend is stable for visits if you like." A small apologetic smile forms along her lips and I nod not being able to muster up a smile back. "Thank you have a nice night ma'am." She hums a little and brushes past me. I take one look back at the room where they have Marinette in before I shuffle to the lobby. Collapsing onto the chair I pull out my phone to take a look at the time. 11:47 pm it read, followed by 4 miss calls from Nathalie at 11:30. I had promised to be back before 10 but that is out of question now. I tilted my head back as I let a rush of thoughts consume me. A sudden vibration from my phone jolts me back to focus.

Nathalie
Answer📞         Decline

I pay no attention to the phone until it dies down, slowly lifting up the piece of technology I peek at the screen.
Miscall: Nathalie (5) 12:08 a.m

Closing the phone I lean forward letting it hang dangerously swinging from my hand and stare blankly at the elevator praying that it would open any second now and reveal a healthy Marinette. The phone lightens up lively and vibrates braking my intense staring at the elevator doors.
Miscall Father 12:22 a.m
I shut off the notifications and turn on airplane mode to block out all of the calls. Letting the phone sit on my lap I lean back against the chair and stare at the flickering lights in the ceiling. A few minutes pass by and my phone lights up again silently a irritated groan that sounds more like a croak escapes my lips as I intend to shut off the device completely. Silence fills the area and I lean back again against the chair fighting back tears praying for Marinette's safety. The sleep that I was fighting back decides to take control, a tear slips down my cheek as one last thought of Marinette resonates in my mind.

"Adrien? Adrien sweetie, please wake up, Adrien?" A soft voice whispers to my jolting me out of my sleep. Rubbing my eyes slightly I catch a glimpse of blue hair, without thinking I blurt out in a rather loud manner "Marinette?" my eyes take a second to adjust back to the lights but when they fix on the person who woke me a feeling of slight sadness pinged me when I saw that it was not Marinette but her mother. A light smile played along her lips when I had awakened. "Adrien sweetie I think you should go home now get some rest, a change of clothes and a nice shower. We'll contact you when Marinette feels better." A feeling almost similar to frustration builds up in my throat. "Can I not stay with her? I don't want to leave her side." The last part comes out as a coherent mumble but Sabine smiles as if she understood. "I know your worried, but you should also get some rest Adrien. When Marinette wakes up she'd want to see you healthy and well, and you look exhausted and stressed. Get yourself something to eat and sleep well." Without a word back I stand up and turn my phone on to reveal the time. 2:36 a.m
Miscall Nathalie (23)
Miscall Father (7)

Closing the phone again I catch a glimpse of my reflection. Eye bags, messy hair, unhealthy looking skin. It's only been a couple hours since I last eaten why do I look so skinny and tired? Exiting the hospital I take in the sky and how beautiful the early morning looks. Why? Why does everything look so normal when Marinette is suffering? How come the stars are shining when Marinette is hurt? Thoughts of frustration cloud my thoughts as I walk towards the empty metro station. The lights flickering creating some sort of light in the darkness guide me to the metro as I wait for the it to arrive.

I glance down at the phone again the time read 2:51 a.m. A familiar *ping* brings my focus back to the metro pulling up. The doors open and only a small hand full of people walk out. I guess I have the whole place to myself. Another glance at my reflection through the glass and I cringe. The frustration built up in my throat threatens to irrupt as my body rocks unsteadily against the seat I am currently occupying.

Flickers of neon green lights blur into the empty area, yellow toned lights jumping from corner to corner as we enter a dark tunnel. Marinette... A tear glides down my cheek. And that was it. That was all it took to unleash the build up of frustration and sadness that had been held within me. Tears, screaming, sobbing cries that echoed through the halls but were only heard by me.

"Hello Adrien," a sinister voice that wasn't my own resonated through my head. "My name is Hawkmoth, and I would like to help you."
