Oh my god, I cannot believe what happened back there.” Cher squealed as they walked into the boys’ bathroom. She had one of Niall’s snapbacks over her head with all of her hair tucked into it; her hoodie zipped right up making sure that most of her face was hidden. She could pass for a scrawny boy; she was wearing skinny jeans and plain converse trainers on the bottom.
“Shut up, if you squeal too loudly everyone will know that you’re a girl.” Niall frowned, slapping a hand over her mouth. Cher’s eyes crinkled up as she licked his palm, making him cry out and retract his hand again, wiping it on her arm.
“It really wasn’t that big of a deal.” Harry shrugged; if he was honest with himself though, he couldn’t believe it either. From what he’d learnt of the school so far he knew that Louis was on top, and that no one crossed him.
He’d seen his wit first hand, and noted that he had a biting and unforgiving personality. He also knew that when he’d knocked him over and called him gay, he didn’t take it too well. So when Louis defended him in the cafeteria and invited him to lunch, it would be an understatement to say that he was shocked.
And then, on top of everything else, Louis had actually been nice to him. He wondered why anyone would hate Louis as much as Niall did; he’d been more than decent to Harry so far.
“Yes it was, Harry! The Plastics never invite anyone new into their little group.” Cher said, voice lower this time. “Surely Louis must have his reasons, did he say anything?”
“Well, he did say that it was a huge deal that I got to sit with them, but I didn’t think so. They seemed pretty stupid, especially Zayn.” Harry muttered nonchalantly, crossing his arms against his chest.
“That’s because Malik is the stupidest guy you’ll ever meet, don’t bother listening to a word that comes out of his mouth.” Niall snapped. He was obviously more than irritated by the fact that Harry had eaten lunch with the Plastics rather than him and Cher. Maybe he was jealous, Harry thought.
“That’s not true, he may be dumb but you should listen to everything he says. He could tell you some dirty stuff about the others.” Cher protested, poking Niall in the chest.
“They did invite me to sit with them all week.” Harry said excitedly, he loved the feeling of being so included in two different cliques, when he’d had no one the day before.
“You have to do it, ok? And then you can tell us all the horrible things they say about everyone!” Cher squeaked.
“Oh I don’t know… Louis actually seems kind of nice.” Harry said, speaking his mind for once; he just couldn’t comprehend why everyone seemed to have such a problem with the plastics when they’d been nice to him, the new guy, all day.
“Louis is not nice! He’s a cock-sucking-scum-bag, he ruined my life!” Niall shouted, throwing his hands in the air in frustration. Harry was quite taken aback.
“He’s fabulous, but he’s evil.” Cher muttered, winking at Harry, who chuckled a little in response.
“But, why do you hate him?” Harry asked Niall, turning to face him.
“What do you mean?” Niall shrugged, as though he couldn’t fathom where Harry had gotten that idea from.
“I mean Louis; you seem to really hate him.” Harry said quickly, not wanting Niall to get angry again.
“Yes, what’s your question?” Niall sighed.
“Well my question is, why?” Harry responded.
“Oh, you see, when we were in junior school Louis made everyone think-“
“Cher! Can we not?” Niall said, exasperated. “I don’t want to remember that and I don’t really want anything to do him.”
