CHAPTER 8

No, no and uh... NO! I can't do this. River looked at me with a questionable look and followed my eyes to see what I was staring at. River looked back at me with a cute smile. I shook my head at her no, my peach hair bouncing against my shoulders.
"Well we are gonna get our schedules you two can to whatever. But remember we have training!" Luke gave River a hug and a kiss on the cheek, then he did the same to me. I smiled sweetly at him and hugged him back.
"If anything happens tell me and Luke you got that Bayonetta?" Bryan asked staring into my eyes. I nodded yes as he engulfed me in a hug. I hugged him as tight as I could. River and Bryan were the only people I felt safe with.
"Schools gonna be over before you know it don't worry. And if any guy flirts with you or River you both tell me immediately got that?" He said in a serious tone. River looked at me and we giggled.
"I mean it! Me and Luke have to meet the guy first, there ain't gonna be no fishy business got that you two?"
"Yes Bryan, we don't do that!" I sad crinkling my nose at the thought, ew.
"Alright, then that's settled. oh and Bayonetta..." Bryan called out over his shoulder looking back at us.
"Yeah Bryan?"
"Try to refrain from getting in trouble alright?" He smirked and walked off.
"I CAN'T PROMISE ANYTHING!!!!" I screamed after him. He waved his hand to show that he heard me.

River and I laughed and started imitating Bryan. What can I say, it's what we do. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned, my mind in alert. As soon as I saw who it is I relaxed. A little.
"Oh. Hi Connor." I greeted and he smiled at me.
"I didn't know you were coming to this school!" He laughed.
"I didn't either." I croaked.
"That's right! We have to get our schedule River. Lets go!" I grabbed her hand and walked away. I increased my hearing ability to hear what they were saying. All I heard was:
"Are you sure that's your mate?" And then the rest was cut off by me and River entering our new school. We headed to the first door that said 'OFFICE' in big letters.

"Hello what can I help you with?" The women said with her head down still filling out paperwork.
"Transfers." River smiled sweetly and took a pen out of her bag. The brunette women looked up and smiled
"You must be River and Bayonetta. Welcome to the best high school in state!" She said sounding all cheerful.
"My name is Mrs. Gibson and I will help you with anything you need." She looked at the ceiling as if trying to remember something.
"Ah yes! I will give you both a helper to show you around!" She went back behind the desk and picked up a phone.
"Hello Mr. Warren, may I please borrow 2 of your best students during first period? It will only be for a couple of minutes!" She smiled when she talked on the phone.
"Okay thank you Mr. Warren, alright bye bye now." She hung up and went into her drawers. She handed us both a packet of paperwork.
"Just read and sign were all the x's are. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!" She smiled and went straight to her work. I took a pen from my book bag and sat down next to River. We both filled out the paperwork and used the same exact last name so we can be in the same classes together. We couldn't decide which one to pick so she just used mine. Her name is now officially River Haze!

It took us a couple of minutes to fill out the paperwork in the middle of the paperwork a loud bell rang making me jump up. I grabbed Rivers hand and looked around, making my senses increase. River put her hand on my shoulder to calm me down.
"It's just a bell for kids to know its time to switch classes it's alright." She whispered. I nodded and slowly sat back down. A couple minutes later 2 boys came into the office. What the hell is it with Connor always showing up? He had the guy from the beach with him. The one that stood in the back inspecting River.
"Are you sweeties almost done?" Mrs. Gibson asked.
"Yes Mrs. Gibson." River stood up and handed her the clip board and I soon followed afterwards.
"Okay now here are your schedules. This is first period and so on. If you need to change classes just come to me and we will talk about it. Now these boys Connor and Adam will show you to all of your classes. If you have any questions these boys will answer them for you. Good luck and try not to get in trouble on your first day!" Mrs. Gibson was so happy I wanted to punch her. Instead I just nodded and smiled.
