It's nearing the time for Christmas, 3 weeks to be exact, and I still have yet to find a present for Petey,
my good friend and slight crush. I know, 3 weeks is more than enough time to arrange a present, but this is important.
Slumped, I text Jimmy what Petey might want for Christmas.
Me: "hey jimmy, i'm kinda stuck on figuring out what to get Petey for Christmas. any ideas ?"

Jimmy: "December literally just started lol"
Me: "I KNOW, but knowing me, i'd probably wait until the last minute and i wont have it in time"

Jimmy: "Hmm, well he was gushing over a recent video game that came out last month, Monster Massacre i think?"
Me: "oooo okay, thanks !"

This is perfect. Petey loves video games and usually isolates in his dorm room playing on his console, with the exception of hanging out with me or Jimmy.
To obtain more details about this Monster Mania game, I hop on my laptop to, first and foremost, figure out the price and fortunately, it was $60. Luckily, I had some extra cash stored in a lunchbox somewhere. A video gaming website in short says that Monster Massacre is an action-adventure game embarking you on a journey where you battle various ugly looking creatures while completing difficult objectives each level as you advance. Not my style, but the graphics appear pleasant.
The sudden ringing of my phone startled me, it's a call from Petey.
"Hey Petey, what's up?"
"W-well, I-I was wondering if you would wanna go grab something to eat?"
We've been friends for about a year but he's still terribly shy, it's pretty cute.
"Sounds great, I'll be ready in 5 minutes."
Ditching my non clique uniform, I threw on a casual white hoodie, jeans, mittens, and a beanie then performed minor adjustments to my hair and eye makeup. I left the girl's dorm and jogged to the school gates.
Petey stood stiff with his right hand holding his left elbow and head down, as if he's nervous.
"Hi Petey!" I exclaimed, hugging him in excitement. He jumped at the random action but returned the hug back. "Hey (Y/N). You seem happy today."
"Well, because I like being with you!" I replied with a genuine smile, causing him to blush profusely. His eyes beamed and chuckled softly, seemingly feeling the same. We chatted for a while before finally exiting this dump to grab a bite.

Entering the burger joint in Old Bullworth Vale, the place contained only a few people so thankfully there was no difficulty getting a spot. We quickly ordered our burgers and fries then sat back down.
"So, I-I want to ask you something, (Y/N).
"Hm, what is it?" I questioned, scarfing down a bundle of fries.
