Maya

Maya wore a simple black long-sleeve T-shirt and a bright orange skirt.

She left her hair open and just sprayed a little perfume. No makeup, just her natural glow

She stepped out of the room. Sweety looked up from the sofa and her eyes became big and shiny.

"Waaa... Maya di!" Sweety gasped, hands on her cheeks. "You look like a fairy!"

Maya smiled shyly. "Thank you, Sweety."

Sweety ran to her and held her hands like a little girl.

"Arjun bhaiya is going to forget how to talk when he sees you!" she said with the purest smile.

Maya's cheeks turned pink.

Her phone rang. Arjun.

"Come out, Maya," Arjun said softly.

"O-okay..." Maya answered and hung up.

She turned to Sweety. "I'm going now. Take care, okay?"

Sweety nodded fast, eyes sparkling. "Have the happiest day ever, Maya di! I'm so excited for you!"

She opened her arms wide. "One big hug before you go!"

Maya laughed and hugged her tight. Sweety hugged back like a small teddy bear.

Outside

Arjun was waiting, leaning against the car.

When Maya walked out, his eyes froze on her.

She looked so simple, yet so beautiful. He couldn't blink.

Maya stopped in front of him and looked up.

Their eyes met. Everything else disappeared.

Maya looked down first, shy under his gaze.

Arjun stepped closer, gently wrapped his arm around her waist, and pulled her near.

He kept staring at her face like he was seeing her for the first time.

"Why are you staring so much, Arjun?" Maya whispered, feeling shy.

"Like what?" Arjun asked with a tiny smirk.

"Like... I don't know..." Maya mumbled.

Arjun smiled softly.

"Because you look so beautiful today, baby."

Maya's face became red.

"Today I'm keeping you with me the whole day. Not even one second without you," he said seriously.
Maya's heart skipped.

"Where are we going?" she asked, changing the topic.

"Surprise," Arjun said and held her hand.

He opened the car door. Maya got in.

When she struggled with the seatbelt, Arjun leaned close to help.

Maya closed her eyes, heart racing, hoping for a touch like last night.

But he only fixed the seatbelt.

Maya slowly opened her eyes and saw him smiling at her.

She quickly looked out the window, cheeks burning.

"Maya, look at me," Arjun said gently.

She kept looking outside.

He softly lifted her chin with one finger.

"What happened, baby?"

"Nothing..." Maya said in a tiny voice.

"Maya," he warned softly.

She looked down, playing with her fingers.
"I thought... you would... touch me like yesterday..."

she whispered, voice almost gone.

Arjun's eyes became soft. He didn't laugh.

Instead he cupped her face with both hands.

"I'm sorry, baby. I didn't mean to make you sad," he said gently.

Maya looked up, eyes a little teary.

Arjun kissed her forehead, then her cheeks, then her lips, slow and sweet.

When they pulled away, Maya was breathing fast, holding his shirt.

Arjun smiled. "Better now?"

Maya nodded, still blushing.

"Let's go," he said.

Maya quickly let go of his shirt and hid her face with her hands.

From the window upstairs, Sweety was watching with the biggest, purest smile, hands pressed to her cheeks.

Sweety (whispering to herself): "They look like a real fairy tale... I'm so happy for my Maya di!"
