Chapter Three - Not Anymore

Dear Diary,

It has been 2 weeks since Remus Lupin started dating Mary Hale. The perfect girl, which, I am not.

The past few days have went by slow. Heartbreak is no joke. I have still attended all my classes but when it came to dinner or breakfast I was up in my dorm. I didn't want to see his face with her. I'm glad he's happy, don't get me wrong but I'm jealous that he isn't happy with me, I guess. Today I decided to man up and go to breakfast. Can't move on if you avoid the situation and person the whole time. Today I woke up at 5:30 and decided to do my makeup and spend sometime on my hair to look like that bad bitch I am. I mean who a, I kidding? I don't need no man. I'm strong, independent and stunning.

At 7:30, I decided to head down to breakfast. Once I got to the doors i changed my mind. This is a bad idea I thought over and over. Once I realised I was just standing there, I turn around ready to walk out until I heard a voice call my name from the hall and walk over to me.

"Y/n, hey! You okay? I noticed you standing over here just starting into space?" They asked.  Shit I thought.

"Yeah! I was just uh thinking... yeah... thinking" I said.

"thinking? thinking about what? it must have been something important to make you stand in the middle of the doorway." Remus says. confusion stuck on his face.

"your girlfriend- erm- that sounded weird- i meant uh... she seems nice!! what's her name again?" I panicked. rushing over my words and completely embarrassing myself.

"Mary"

"Mary" I tilt my head back in acknowledgment. "well Mary must be feeling lonely in the common room with our idiot friends! off you pop!" Letting out a forced giggle I shoo Remus away.
"oh yeah... see you later." I could tell he was weirded out by my suspicious behaviour
but he didn't ask.

Sirius POV
I was walking to the great hall when I saw Remus and Y/N talking. I was so confused until I saw her pained giggle she forced out while talking to Remus. Damn, he's my best mate but bloody hell is he stupid- well, he's the smartest and i'm the best looking one- anyways, when it comes to girls he's dumb! yeah! that. As Moony walked away I walked over to her. I just wish I could be more help.

Y/N POV
I took a sharp inhale as Remus left. I didn't want to
cry, girls like me don't cry. not anymore. I noticed Sirius walking up to me with a sorrowful look on his face.
"hey, you okay Love? I saw Mooney over there trying to talk to you. I know how much you loved him. Idiot if you ask me" I laughed at the last part Sirius just had to put in.
"yeah... it's just hard. ya know? should've just told him sooner before he slipped from my grasp." I told the boy with a saddened look.

Sirius couldn't stand it longer. He hated the sad smile you had on your face and he wanted to change that. He wanted a happy smile from a Happy Y/N  L/N.

"well he's stupid, unlike me, i'm handsome and have you seen my hair?! it's been so fluffy recently-" I can't take him seriously (siriusly) anymore. I let out a fit of laughter. he's so silly.
"yeah... Hey Sirius? could you stay out here with me for a little while?" Once I asked him, I had a strange feeling in my stomach but I just ignored it.
"of course, are you sure you're okay though love?" Sirius hesitated but asked anyways. He cared, you could see that through his big beautiful brown eyes and the way his face furrowed in concern.
"yeah, i'm fine, I just don't want to be alone." I say shyly. what is going on with me right now?! I think to myself. I'm never usually this shy-
I clear my throat waiting for his response anxiously.
Sirius clears his throat probably realising he has just been staring at me for about five minutes saying nothing.
"y- yeah, of course. I'll get us some blankets. I don't need this-" he makes a circle gesture with his hands around his face and continues. "to freeze in the same position- it simply wouldn't be attractive- I am always attractive ignore me, I have no clue what i'm on about heh..." he rambled on but still continues. "i'll get us some blankets though so we don't freeze." he scrambles off getting the blankets as K let out a soft giggle at the boy.
"thank you" I whisper. But he can still hear me. Gosh I don't know where I would be without him.

Sirius comes back with a mountain of blankets and sits beside me. He drowns us in blankets as I rest my head on his shoulder. Subconsciously he starts stroking my her comforting me unknowingly. Slowly I feel myself drifting off until Sirius spoke. "Do you have a date to the Yule Ball yet? It's tomorrow." I yelp in surprise making Sirius yelp in fright.
"the yule ball is tomorrow?" I squeal. How could I forget! Before I could think any longer a hand is slapped around my lips and pull me closer to them- and tighter may I add- as it is late now and everyone is sleeping. "sorry" I apologise with a quiet chuckle.
