"5,6,7,8,! Down, up!" I counted as the next dancer began her drop spins. Honestly she was terrible she was a beat behind and spinning infront of her face.
"Um okay well can you do a basic toss?" I asked as I got out of my seat.
"I think so" the girl threw the flag into a full landing it pretty well.
"Okay this is progress" I smiled at her as she did the toss again landing it perfectly.
"Good job! We just need to work on your drop spins any you'll be set. Thanks for trying out!" I excused the girl while Esther called the last dancers in. I settled into my seat as a cogender duo walked into the gym. After arranging there sabres, rifles, and flags they stood in second position.
"Names?" I asked eying the boy.
"I'm Kirstie and this is Scott" Kirstie was very bubbly. She had obviously dyed blonde hair and was fairly short while the Adonis next to her was naturally blonde I could tell my the lack of eyebrows and was pretty damn tall. Taller than his flag.
"Did you prepare a routine?" Esther asked as I drooled over Scott.
"Um yeah" Scour scratched the back of his head.
"Can I have your music?" I asked as I set up the radio. Kirstie ran over and handed me a disc before skipping back to her original position.
"Ready?" I asked. Once I pushed the start button the two began the routine.
Esther and I exchanged looks as the two began their sabre. By the end of the routine my jaw was at the floor. Kirstie and Scott hugged as they finished as Esther and I stared at each other.
"Um wow okay that was amazing" I stood up along with Esther.
"Thanks it was an old routine from my old school"Scott blushed.
"I just need you too do some extra things for the audition. Can I have you guys do 10 drop stop?" I asked as I stood infront of Scott while Esther stood infront of Kirstie.
"Right shoulder. Okay 5,6,7,8. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,drop stop" I counted off as the two did the spins perfectly in sync.
"You're on the team for sure" I gushed as Kirstie squealed and hugged Scott.
"Practice is on everyother weekday at 3 to 7 and then Saturdays from 9 to 2. We practice here in the gym." I smiled.
"Great! Thank you so much!" Kirstie beamed as her phone went off.
"Excuse me. Hey babe. Yeah it was great we got in!" she squealed as she walked away to talk.
"So you were on a team before?" I made small talk with scott while I began to do my old routine from last year with the flag.
"Uh yeah. Optical Illusions" I dropped my flag as he spoke. Optical Illusions is one of the best high school guards.
"Optical Illusions? Like the best high school guard?" I picked up my flag and did a 45 as we talked.
"Yeah" Scott chuckled.
"Scott! My moms here we gotta go!" Kirstie called as she grabbed her bag and flags.
"I have to go. Um I know this is stupid but can we maybe hang out sometime?" Scott bit his lip nervously.
"Um sure"I smiled.
"Cool" I helped Scott carry their weapons to Kirstie's moms car before I wrote my number on his hand.
"Im free whenever just call me" I winked before running back to the gym to practice and gossip with Esther.
"You gave him your number?!" Esther yelled as she did a quad on rifle.
"Yeah" I smiled as I tossed my sabre.
"He was on Optical Illusions" Esther dropped her rifle.
"What!" she screamed.
"Yeah I know." I fangirled along with her.
"This insane" she gushed.
"I know now come on we have a routine to create".
