The dark ceiling at 2am.

The salty taste of wet tears on your cheeks.

You roll over in bed clutching your knees to your chest staring off into the darkness.

Begging.

Begging silently for it to stop.

What seems like hours passes but when you check the time on your phone, only a few minutes have passed.

All your friends are asleep, as you should be.

The only thing keeping you company is your dark thoughts and the explore page on your Instagram feed.

You scroll silently trying to keep your mind off of your thoughts which whirl in circles creating worst case scenarios.

You check the time again hoping the morning hour is close at hand but once again, only a few minutes have passed.

You throw down your phone hoping to catch some sleep.

You soon realize that, that hope?

Is hopeless.

As you lay on your back in the dark your heart beats faster and faster as your brain continues to dream up horrible things that have the slightest chance of happening.

Faster.

And faster.

Once again you grab your phone and attempt to distract yourself with social media feeds.

The cycle repeats until you fall asleep out of sheer exhaustion.

Your able to catch a few hours of sleep before your quite literally forced to get up for school/work.

And the cycle repeats.

Over.

And over.
