"What have you done to Kagome!" Sesshomaru growled at the chained up demon.
"Me, nothing," he said the blue of his eyes shining through the filth on his face, "My companion on the other hand."
He didn't finish the sentence. Sesshomaru's fingertips glowed as he inched them closer to the demon's neck.
"My Companion was a thief, he stole her life, Now he is dead, and she soon will be too."
Sesshomaru growled, three lowlife demons had gotten Kagome worked up, something wasn't right.
"Besides," the Demon continued with a smile, "We were guaranteed her death, the plan was foolproof."

Chapter Seventy-Seven: The Keeper of All
"What do you mean?" Sesshomaru asked, "Who tipped you off?"
"What do I mean?" the demon replied "We knew all along, She was meant to be here, and she will be your downfall. The Witch is always right."
Sesshomaru had heard enough as he spun on his heel and left.
"Where is Rin?" he asked Kiyoshi.
Kiyoshi looked at him uneasily.
"Milord, Mistress Rin hasn't been seen since the faking of your death, I have had soldiers searching everywhere for her. But there has been no word."
"What!?" Sesshomaru said his voice low "You wait to tell me this now?"

Chapter Seventy-Eight: Implications
The subjects were very unwilling to help poor Kagome. Who had fallen into a sleep like state. The hole in her chest covered by a few bandages. The one Nurse who would attend to her believed that the Flame Demon had tried to crush her heart, but at the last second her reiki kicked in keeping her alive. Sesshomaru did not visit he was busy looking for Rin, Where could she have gone? And where was that boy, Atsushi? He did not want to think about the Implications, They were going to be in so much trouble. Possibly even dead.

Chapter Seventy-Nine: Return of Inuyasha
Finally, Rin and Atsushi made themselves known. They had fled, thinking that Sesshomaru was dead, to search for Inuyasha. Whom they had found, and whom they had brought back with them.
"You know," Sesshomaru started angrily "Your life is a gift."
He said this to Atsushi as he held a sword to his throat.
"Yes..." Atsushi stammered.
"Touch Rin again and I'll take that gift away!!" Sesshomaru growled drawing a small droplet of blood as he pressed harder on the sword.
"Go bathe," he growled at Rin, before turning towards Inuyasha and his company, "I will deal with you later."

Chapter Eighty: Gateway
Kagome opened her eyes slowly to a blinding white light. She shielded her eyes until they could focus then looked around. The Sky around her was crystal clear blue and she stood on a flowing grassy slope. She could see in the distance a strange archway. Without wasting a breath she started running toward it. As she neared closer the Arch became more defined it was made of stone and seemed to reflect the world around it back at you.
"This is a Gateway," came a voice.
Upon the Gateway sat the Witch.
"This is the Gateway to the afterlife."
