A/N

 Hello! So welcome to the Red Wolf Prophecies, just to clear things up about pronunciations I wanted to let you know beforehand.

So here are the names:

Volfren = Vool-fren

Iranna = I - ra - na

Volfen saw through his prey's eyes, he was headed for the streets. They were dangerously close to humans but Volfen had felt the power emanating from the younger wolf earlier, he was a higher rank than the rest, probably an Alpha. He chased him out onto the road, forcing the smaller, sand coloured wolf to sprint across the road in an attempt to escape.

Iris didn't see the massive dog that headed for her, all she saw was a light, sandy colour before it smashed into her left side and something crashed through her window. Something sharp bit into her shoulder and scratched at her face, blood splayed around and her hair whipped wildly across her face as the car flipped and rolled through the air and across the street.

Volfen stopped in his tracks, his chest huffing in and out and saliva dripped from his glistening fangs. A human had been hurt, they had gotten involved and now he had to save them. He snarled with fury at the younger wolf who was now injured and swiped at him, warding him away from the now upside down car, he growled a low rumble as the young Alpha sped away, tail between his legs.

The transformation was slower than usual, Volfen's fury slowing it down substantially. He panted, the effort and tracking had drained much of his energy but that did not stop him from tearing the metal door off of the car, the screeching of metal piercing his sensitive ears. He cringed, the allure of blood had already begun to take affect and he wasted no time in ripping the seatbelt away from Iris.

He took her into his arms and searched her pockets, trying to find an ID. He huffed, frustrated that he had not found one. Just before he was about to give up hope and bring her in to the hospital something glinted in the low light of the street. He settled the woman down carefully and rummaged through the centre console of the now mutilated car, relief swept through him when he found a licence, indicating that her name was Iris and where she lived.

Volfen was familiar with the area and he knew that Iris lived close by so he took her once again into his arms and searched for her house. Iris was barely conscious, she could feel the blood draining from her body and her head spin, she was sure she had hit it in the crash. She groaned, a name escaping her lips.

"Ian."

Volfen looked down at Iris curiously. Shock overcame his face when he saw Iris' auburn hair, her high cheekbones, strong jawline and a small scatter of light freckles, draped over her nose.  She looked just like Iranna, his past lover but she was gone. She had passed eons ago. Volfen breathed out, unaware that he had been holding his breath and looked up again, spotting the apartment building that Iris lived in.

Volfen had found Iris' keys earlier and now he rustled through her pockets again, once he found them he swiftly unlocked the door and closed it behind him, settling the young woman down on her couch nearby. Volfren knelt down next to the now unconscious Iris and checked her pulse, his expression hardened when he felt it weakening.  He sniffed the air, he acknowledged the smell of alcohol and other items he could use. He stood up, following his nose to find their whereabouts. Once he did he returned and tended to the wound, disinfecting it and making sure to take every piece of glass out.

 Volfen wiped a bloody hand across his sweaty brow, it had been a long time since he had to treat a human and not himself, the smell of blood was tempting him and he barely had enough energy to resist. He held his breath and Iris moaned in pain as he took the last piece of glass out before sewing the wound up.

Iris was suddenly aware of the extreme, searing hot pain in her left shoulder. Her whole body ached and her head swam, she opened her eyes, blinking away the blur of sleep. She glanced over at her shoulder and her ice blue eyes widened, blood ran down her arm and she lapsed back out of consciousness.

Volfen struggled with the smell of blood and it's allure but he held his breath, resisting all the more. He tore his gaze away from the wound and closed it hurriedly, putting the materials he had used, back and washing his bloodstained hands.

Iris lapsed in and out of consciousness, she felt someone's arms around her, or was it just her blanket as she wrapped herself into it? She fainted again when her shoulder pounded along with her head and the searing hot pain returned.

Volfen made sure that she'd be alright before leaving, going back to where the crash happened and picking up the scent of the sand coloured wolf. He morphed again, struggling a little and howled into the night, the half moon greeting him with open arms. He huffed, hating the beast inside as it fought to take over.
